February 17, 20215 yr Not sure if Asobo knows about this, but ever since the launch of the sim, AI nav lights out in the distance look extremely blocky and unrealistic. I took a snapshot of what they look like. This is what they look like at 4k running Ultra preset. February 17, 20215 yr They look good at my meager HD settings with 19xx times something. You may want to open a zendesk ticket, this here is not the right place for „Asobo/MS please fix xyz“ if you feel it‘s wrong. Some people even complain that Barra has no runway* *could not resist 😉 Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
February 17, 20215 yr Author From my understanding the lights are fixed and not dynamic. Meaning they look optimal if you run the sim at 1920x1080. Going up in resolution the worse it looks. I believe this issue has been discussed before. But I will submit a ticket nonetheless. Can anyone else who run the sim at resolutions higher than 1920x1080p confirm that the AI plane lights look worse as you progressively bump up the resolution? July 10, 20214 yr Author Does nobody here have this issue? Specifically those who run at 4k. I am curious to know if you're seeing square AI plane lights as well in the distance. Looks extremely bad and unrealistic. July 10, 20214 yr I have the exact same issue and I run the game at my monitors native resolution of 2560 x 1440.
July 11, 20214 yr I run at 2K and yes the AI aircraft lights look square. Gary i9-13900K, Asus RTX 4080, Asus Z790 Plus Wi-Fi, 32 GB Ram, Seasonic GX-1000W, LG C1 48” OLED 4K monitor, Quest 3 VR
July 11, 20214 yr Author Just like I suspected. Asobo needs to fix this issue for those of us who run at resolutions above 1080p. April 10, 20224 yr There is a thread in the official MSFS forum https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/square-looking-navigation-and-strobe-lights-on-ai-planes/443009 but unfortunately with only 20 votes. I hope that the number of votes is not the only criterion for fixing an issue ... - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

I hope that the number of votes is not the only criterion for fixing an issue ... This unfortunately happens regularly w/ various threads posted there for things I would have guessed would have been no-brainers to vote on but alas, not the case. Sometimes they don't look this way and are sharp but most of the time they look really fake and unrealistic. This sounds like a total piece of cake to fix so perhaps some day they will deal with it. Sometimes it's not that way but from certain angles and distances it's just really goofy looking, the blocky part.
