Has anyone had success getting Gsync to work on a high refresh rate monitor with P3D in windowed mode?

Others have said this but it is completely foreign to my experience, which leads me to believe not all 30hz are the same.  I'd bet you $100 today you could not consistently choose whether or not my screen is at 30 or 60hz by moving the mouse in a double-blinded test.

Sonny, like you I had the same issue. I bought a decent gaming mouse where I could change the DPI settings and no longer had this issue.

Setting my sim to 30fps results in rough camera panning and a non fluid experience altogether. So basically stutters with free sync or slow/laggy camera panning are what I have to choose from. Also setting my fps to 30 internally causes my fps to dip even lower.

Don't set 30 in the settings. It's been proven that results in poor performance. Set it to unlimited and control things with the refresh rate of your monitor. If it will accept 30Hz then you'll get much better performance although there may not be totally smooth panning.

Your monitor is not included in your sig. Knowing that would be helpful.

Why is the mouse an issue? Surely you use it just to click on knobs and dials? It isn't as though a millisecond is going to lose you a life!

At 30Hz the mouse reacts at half the speed it does at 60Hz. It is noticeable but you get used to it. It’s not the clicking so much as the movement to get to the instrument you want to change.

Having GoFlight units enables me to set frequencies via that and the GoFlight MCP means I don’t have to use the mouse for the autopilot. It helps enormously.

And yet as you know my Dell U3415W in its specs and manual does not indicate it is 30Hz capable.  I only learned that using NVP where it was an option.

According to the manual it doesn’t support 30Hz at the native resolution.

I fail to understand why it’s an option in NCP.

To avoid confusion if there is any, the mouse 'reacts' (i.e. to being moved or button presses) at exactly the same speed at any monitor refresh rate, however mouse panning motion, since it's a graphical representation of position is going to display at half the frame rate like everything else does when vsynced at half monitor refresh.  As I say, I can pan the mouse cursor slow/fast at 30 and 60 and they both look identical, to me.

As mentioned in another thread your specific monitor's own spec sheet may not indicate it is 30Hz capable.  My Dell U3415W absolutely does not indicate it and yet NCP does, so best advice would be to simply open up nV Control Panel and see if it's an option as it is for my screen.

I know Ray we talked about this before which is why I mention it so others will also look at NCP.

It is a Gigabyte G27FC 27" curved monitor. Doesn't support 30hz. I've been leaving it at the default 144hz and using VRR in p3dv5. GSync is off because it causes flickering, but I do have Freesync turned on. Interestingly I don't get stuttering in XP11, but at the same time p3dv5 is a completely different sim.

Okay, that’s not something I have ever had experience with so can’t really comment further.
