Be careful... this has already become an annoying topic around here...

Its a rather sore point of conversation atm I guess, after all its been weekly teasers from them, at this point its just becoming more negative than positive publicity. I am sure most folks want a well polished release but I guess they went abit over on the marketing.

One thing I like about Aerosoft is their innovation to be creative and try new things that may or may not impress simmers. Sorry, but I don't find announcements regarding new features as being "more negative than positive publicity..."

Here's a quote from Mathijs Kok this morning >>>   "Okay okay, we'll admit. The CRJ has wing flex. But not the 'floppy' wings I see so often in other aircraft. This is pretty sophisticated stuff with it's own controller. Only that way could we get the 10 Hz 'vibrations' of the short wings. Very noticeable on the ground. We believe it is damned cool because it is not done as a gimmick but really as realistic as possible."

I don’t understand why people would find video tutorials for the aircraft produced by an experienced type rated pilot “negative” publicity. Although many who will purchase the MSFS CRJ will have had experience with the P3D version, and will be able to use the aircraft systems knowledge from that version to “jump in and fly” immediately, there will be many other customers new to the CRJ (or complex add-ons in general) who could benefit by having a detailed instructional video series.

The (real) CRJ has some significant differences in operating technique - especially during takeoff and initial climb - than something like the MSFS Airbus because of the lack of VNAV and autothrottles. You can’t simply punch LNAV/VNAV and engage the autopilot 5 seconds after takeoff and sit back and watch while the airplane does everything for you.

Various aircraft systems have to be manually configured during preflight that would be automatic on other airliners, and if not done correctly will result in things not working as expected in flight. Two stab trim computers have to be brought online before takeoff, along with two yaw dampers and Mach trim, or the autopilot will not engage. There are 4 electric hydraulic pumps that have to be properly configured before takeoff, etc.

To me, it makes sense to start the video tutorials before the aircraft is released, to give potential buyers a leg up on getting familiar with the systems. If the release is indeed quite close, the full tutorial series might not be complete before the aircraft hits the market, but any information will be helpful rather than none.

Because the question is: does the actual product match the advertising? Going by past experiences, I'm not so sure.

It's like a French chef with 3 Michelin stars advertising "this wonderful beef patty, made from cattle who were massaged three times a day, served on a bespoke handrolled bun...." then it turns out he was talking about a McD Quarterpounder with Cheese.

I feel sorry of how negative the simming community has become.

How can one already talk in a negative manner of a product that hasn't been released yet? Why do you even get in your car if you expect to be envolved in an accident?

If you are unsure of the product then wait for it's release and read reviews until you are confident to buy it (or not).

These guys (Aerosoft) will mostly be first who will bring a Jet into MSFS. When will we see the others do it???

I would assume the tutorials will show whether the aircraft is accurate or not since they will be live videos of the aircraft and systems in operation - not still photos or external videos of the aircraft in flight.

The tutorials could be seen as part of the marketing effort I suppose, but they appear to be primarily aimed at helping customers get the most out of the add on.

Better that a type rated CRJ pilot is demonstrating it, and can point out idiosyncrasies before its yelled at as a bug. CRJ makes you earn your wings more to get everything right. The busses are mainly computer management as so much is done for the pilot automatically. I like the point about wingflex being actual frequency vibrations rather than flopping up and down like a bird. See way too many negative comments, to the likes of if it doesnt have wingflex as in wildly flexing, I am not buying it.  lol.   This is not albatross simulator.

The "Come Fly With Me" is initially set up as a series of 9 or so short videos (10 - 15 min) that complement the written Volume 3 Flight Tutorial.  This is not a "press this button", "pull that knob" type of tutorial. It is instead an experienced CRJ Commercial Pilot that does not work for Aerosoft making live takes intended to show how He configures and flies the CRJ and allows you to look over his shoulder.  You can go to the Aerosoft forum and post your questions if you missed something and wish for more detail.

Episode 1 yesterday - Cockpit Safety Checks
Episode 2 tomorrow - Exterior Walk Around Inspection

It's some kind of paradox...

A 25$ 737, reusing tons of MSFS assets and turbosquid model gets praises and ovations, but a CRJ which probably be under 50$, with a lot of new features and beautiful, external - cockpit model, customs sounds and more is welcome here like it's the MC Donalds of food.

Maybe when Asobo will spend as much time with them too?

PS: this comment has nothing to do with Aerosoft. I can't wait personally flying this beauty and I've known Hans Hartman for a long time to know it will be excellent. Instead, this comment is just to remind there are add-ons simply not possible to do in FS2020 by shear lack of attention, carrying and help by MS/Asobo. This is why I'm also glad the CRJ gets released so that they can focus more on other 3rd party developers needs.
