MSFS Nav data, location and Navigraph

Could someone point me in the right direction please.

I have a Navigraph subscription, but I cant quite figure out how to check that the MSFS nav data is current and using the correct and latest AIRAC cycle.

Where is the MSFS Nav data located, and can it be updated manually. I really dont think Navigraph is updating it. I have simlink, but it only currently seems to find my Xplane folders.

There is a discrepancy sometimes. I fly on Vatsim and am currently inbound LEMG. My Navigraph info and charts indicates ILS procedures for Runways 12/13/31, but within the sim (A32nx) I only have approaches for ILS 12. (Z or Y)

The other approaches are missing from MSFS.

I'd love to help but I'm not sure when it comes to MSFS. I have a Navigraph subscription too but for Xplane and of course, I know where the updates are stored for that platform. I haven't entered the Navigraph Beta yet for MSFS.

Could you not load up one of your aircraft and turn on the FMC which usually shows the AIRAC cycle and the date? Failing that, if nobody can help you here then the Navigraph support forums.

Simlink does not place code in MSFS. So unlike other flight sims, there is no path required nor seen in Navigraph Simlink Settings.

The default nav data is contained in several folders in the Official folder. Navigraph resides in a single folder in your Community folder called “Navigraph NavData”. The Navigraph data does not directly replace or modify any of the default files, but if present in the Community folder will override the default data.

The effectivity dates in an aircraft FMS may (or may not) accurately show the current installed AIRAC - it depends on which aircraft, and whether it is a default or modded version. You should not rely on any dates shown in an FMS.

One test that will show if Navigraph is installed and working would be to set up a flight in the default flight planner from any departure with KELM as a destination. Use either low or high altitude airways as the route type.

If default nav data is active, and you check the available approaches in the drop down menu for KELM, you will see no approaches at all. This is a long standing bug in the default data that has not yet been fixed despite multiple bug reports to both Asobo and directly to NavBlue.

If Navigraph is indeed active, you will see 6 approaches:  ILS06, ILS24, RNAV06, RNAV10, RNAV24 and RNAV28.

It is by no means the only airport missing approaches in MSFS, so I would not characterize it as a "bug".  It is just a poor nav database, at least in the USA.  Very lacking.  Other airports where I have experienced this are KUMP - Indianapolis Metro, and KBKL - Cleveland Burke Lakefront.  There are a number of others I found but did not compile a list before myself adopting the Navigraph beta.
