Egrets

Both the Great Egret and Snowy Egrets are common at the Bitter Lake Wildlife Refuge.  Snowy Egrets are considerably smaller than the Great Egrets.  The first four pictures are Great Egrets.  The last three are Snowy Egrets.  In addition to size their beaks give them away.  Great Egrets have orange beaks while Snowy Egrets have black beaks.

Interesting how Egrets and Herons fly with their necks tucked in, unlike Swans and Geese..
