NV GTX 980 GeForce Upgrade

I am considering an upgrade from NV GTX 980 4GB and would appreciate any recommendations. Samsung 49 inch CRG9 Monitor. Primary is X-Plane 11; secondary P3Dv4.5. Would like to plan for MSFS 2020 sometime in the future. 

Additional specs: 

1.) Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00 GHz Unlocked Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor.

2.) RAM: 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT.

3.) MSI Gaming Intel Z170A LGA 1151 DDR4 USB 3.1 ATX Motherboard (Z170A Gaming M7). 

4.) NZXT Kraken X62 All-in-One CPU Liquid Cooling System.

5.) Windows 10/64 Pro.

But it will also be a case of what you can find, because all higher end graphics cards are in desperately short supply. In fact most are non existant and the few that appear are at extortionate prices.
