Sabreliner released for P3D

Recommended Posts

I'd be interested in reports of  the flight model if anyone has bought it.

I have the just flight HS 748 which is done by AH, and it looks and sounds nice, fantastic in fact, however it's missing some things which are really intrinsic to operating 748, mainly the fuel trimmers for the Rolls Royce darts , they're there but just don't do anything.

The 748, like the saberliner , is  listed as having Realistic and accurate flight dynamics based on real-world performance and handling data.

I used to fly these crazy little turboprops into small strips on the side of hills in South East Asia when I was a young lad, and the flight model performance is a lot more like a jet than the turbo prop I remember so I'm a little dubious.

I initially had no interest in this model but having just watched the Bob Hoover video I'm now quite intrigued as I do like the instrument set up in there,  I'm also getting a strange desire to grow a mustache.

That may explain why, for many years (and maybe still) there was a large Sabreliner facility a little north of me, at Perryville MO (KPCD) airport.   It's only about 70 nm south of St. Louis.

Hi Mace,

I flew charters out of Perryville in the mid-90's when it then known as K02.  I was between full-time jobs at the time.  Sexauer Flying Service, Navajo Chieftan and Seneca 2.  Did a lot of flying for Sabreliner and for TG USA.

Sabreliner moved the manufacturing from LAX to Perryville sometime in the late 70's.  I believe the last of the 65s came off the line there. I'm not sure if any of the 75 or 80's came off the Perryville line.  Sabreliner was spun off from North American to its own company.  In the mid to late 80's, there was proposal to start a new model Sabreliner, fully modernized.  It would competed nicely against the Lear 60 and Hawker 800.  With the recession of the late 80s, that all came to an end, and Sabreliner turned into a MRO company supporting not only the Sabreliner but other business jets.  In the early 80's, the US Navy bought a bunch of older Sabre 40s for conversion into NFO trainers for navigators and WSOs. There still in use.  Today, I don't believe Sabreliner is still independent company, but the MRO facility is still at Perryville supporting business aviation and military aviation.

Miss the creek fishing in So. Missouri, your neck of the woods!

I've never purchased a Aeroplane Heaven product before. Anyone have anything to say about this group?

The screen shots look quite nice.

I bought their DC3 and I wasn't happy at all with it. This is just my opinion though as most others I corresponded with seem to like it. I looked after I bought it at the reviews and the DC 3 seems pretty well regarded, and this made me question who's reviewing these planes. This does look like a really nice model(so does the DC3)but I won't be buying it.

Seriously debating this....was holding out for the milviz 180 evo and the JF arrow in msfs. Last thing I need is another biz jet to go with all the flysimware and other dev ones I own...this totally wasn't on my radar. If I do pick it up I will post a YT video with it. P3D add on or more stogies...hard decisions...

Thanks for sharing.

Again also for v5....great to see this.

I recently bought their Fairchild C-119, which is supposed to work in P3D 5.1, but my system crashes whenever I load the plane. It works in P3D 4.3. I contacted support but that withered away. The Sabreliner is a new development, so I would be more optimistic that it will work.

The Flying Boxcar was also my first purchase of an AH aircraft...it does work in P3D v5 (you'll need to update the (free) rain effects file from A2A into the panel folder). It's been a fun plane to fly!

I'm thinking about this latest release.

I have asked Aeroplane Heaven about GPS systems, namely Flight1 and RXP.
They said the model is correctly set up for both but they only make it for Flight1 because the converter exists for the RXP.

For the looks it appears to be an excellent airplane for the P3D and I will buy it for sure, in the end I will try to replicate Bob Hoover 4 point roll maneuver in the safety off P3D simulator…

Strange that it's not on Just Flight, as AH normally doing stuff for them. Don't really want to purchase from Sinmarket!

Bully.

If you own RXP GTN/GNS it can use the Flight1 model and converts it to use RXP on it.

So if a plane says only compatible with Flight1, you can still get RXP to convert into it.

Interesting.  Looking forward to feedback from first adopters.

When I was on active duty in the USAF, the Sabreliner, T-39, was the primary VIP transport and I've been on many of them (not as a VIP LOL just a space-available seat filler).  AF Flight Check few these as well, look wicked in camo.  I believe North American used the same wings as the very much loved F-86 Sabrejet.  Bob Hoover was a demonstration pilot for North American and is a legend.

Well, so far I like it overall. Unable to get the GTN750 to display in the VC though. Have a request in to tech support. Never flew one IRL so I cannot speak to the flight model but she behaves quite nicely. Have to see about fuel tank management though, you are instructed to set tank to FUSE for takeoff and landing but it appears to me that fuel consumption is way too high. Could easily be user error but more documentation would be nice.

Bottom line, I will continue to fly it and I sure like the 489kt cruise speed!  🙂
