Info in the wrong place.

Recommended Posts

Sitting here wondering what to do next and there is something I have never bothered about but will ask now.

In MY RC4, when I have loaded the flight plan, I go to the Controller info screen to check the info is correct etc. but ALWAYS the runway selected by RC4 is shown as the gate number.

For instance, yesterday's flight from EGLL is leaving from Gate 27L.

After donkey's years of using RC, am I doing something wrong all this time?

Is it getting this from the flight plan somehow?

Ian

Greetings Ian,

Just so happens I'm flying now and running RC4. Check your build no is 3845. I'm sure it is but best we start with the same version.

I use PFPX to generate a FSX/P3D style plan and the Rwy should not appear in the gate number field. See my plan. I've manually entered the gate numbers for each end but pretty sure RC4 would not place Rwy info there.

Just to be sure enter your two gate numbers before starting your next flight. Maybe if you don't RC4 places the rwy info in those boxes but really you should be entering gate numbers before starting RC4 as they cannot be entered after.

Hi Ray,

Version is the same, phew.

I enter the gate number for departure as I start RC so the correct info is there before I actually "switch it on". I leave arrival open (it does not enter anything here) as I have no idea until I get near landing what it will be.

**************** I had a flash of inspiration and I now know what is happening but not why.

I use FSBuild for flight planning and it automatically puts a runway in for departure according to what it anticipates the wind will be. This what is appearing in RC4 but as a Gate.

So the mystery remains as to where RC4 gets that info from?

Hi Ian,

Compare the start of your plan with the start of one of mine. Can't attach it, sorry. File type not permitted.

This is the plan fed to RC4 but doesn't include a gate number as that is added later.

OK. Got it.

Where yours shows Departure Position as blank, that is where mine is picking up the runway.

Thanks for the help.

Ian, you picked up my first plan which I later realised was not the one fed to RC4. I add the SID and STAR with Aivlasoft’s EFB and export the revised plan.

That’s the one I pasted earlier and it doesn’t contain a departure position.
