Installing FS2004

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

Am installing FS2004 now. And I almost cry, I have so much memories of this simulator. And I thought to my self as a simmer since 2002/3 that I reinstall it and give it a go. I get so many great memories back and a very nostalgic feeling.

Greetings!

A very good idea! But a FS2004 as it was in 2003 is not the same as the same simulator 18 years later. I think, you will be amazed to see, what a huge development and progress this platform has performed since than. Talking about the fantastic sceneries and AI and all that stuff that runs solid as a rock and fast as a rabbit.

Have fun and welcome to the club!

Thank you so much guys, am still happy that people are still active here.

Am trying to revive all my old bought products from back in the days. It seems quite a hassel to get them. Level D and the DA fokker, ifly 737 and my beloved MD11.

Supersky increases the atmospheric environment, global light, haze color, detail.
The result is an atmospheric environment similar to FS2020 or Xplane11, the horizon is tinged with blue.
Here it is in action on the Innsbruck scenery and FSrealWXlite weather.

Oh my goodness if that's the innsbruck photoreal v2 I just recently released, that is insane. I'm sold! Is everything I need to get this sky effect included? i've been trying to achieve this blue horizon affect for years and have never managed to do so. I see it in real life often but can never replicate it

Affirmative. 😉 (Innsbruck scenery is amazing, great job!)

The "ambient sky" is the key to improving all scenery by making them look like reality.

What makes them similar?
This...
Screenshot98261-2.jpg

Supersky 2020 acts on those parameters: the sky textures, and the SweetFX filters have been calibrated to offer the best visual rendering.
In particular weather conditions the effect is very similar to FS2020 or XPlane11.
But the package doesn't just stop at the sky.
It does more.
It improves the water, the sun effect, the clouds, the reflections of the sea.

I've installed it, however on my monitor the world is almost oversaturated with blue. different than the screenshots. maybe I missed something. in certain conditions however, it is stunning! I don't get that saturated look close up however, just blue everywhere.

Yes BTW that was something I was trying to figure out. What weather engine to use? I see you use "FSrealWXlite" is it by anymeans realistic? Like does the cloud base and winds aloft are the same? Or is there any alternative?

FSrealWXlite is freeware  but it's not very accurate.
If you want a more accurate engine you have to use the FSGRW (FS Global Real Weather) by Pilot's payware.

I've just downloaded the file, Aldus. However, I can't see any readme file in the ZIP file I got. For reference, is the one with no installer (la versione non installante as described in your site). Is this OK?
