March 11, 20215 yr Just bought and installed it. No flight yet, but I checked out the interior. Some of the cockpit textures aren't the crispest, but at normal zoom levels the ones that matter, where you have your eyes during flight, are just fine, with the possible exception of those pillars. I do wish those had been a little higher res. Regardless, I feel like those complaining of poor textures must either stare at the roof while they're flying, run the sim at 16x zoom, or are just looking for something to complain about. For @JustFlightScott, may I make a request for your installer? Unless I missed it, there's no option for users to choose an install directory. It would be nice to offer that so users like me who use Addons Linker or a similar tool to manage the community folder don't have to go and physically move the installation after you've put it in the default location, possibly breaking uninstallers in the process. Just a thought!

Perhaps a future revision of the installer could better highlight this, or even offer a radio button so the user can select which they would like at installation. Or even have a simple Windows .bat file that does the switch that people can click on. Sorry to ask a dumb question but where and how do I use the 'no scratches' windshield texture?

It's all rather bizarre this but I do hope that helps. If you could clarify what you mean by originals as a base - that would be great. And in what Sim Versions we're talking about here. I'm hoping everything in MSFS 2020 is going to be for the new sim - and indeed, willing to pay for that. Thanks. Edited March 11, 20215 yr by Will Fly For Cheese

That's flight simmers for you. The frosty reception this thing is getting from some people at Avsim does prove one thing however - apparently you can take a PA-28 into known icing conditions. 🤣 Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

If i choose to, i could find flaws even on my cat, that fluffy egomaniac word not allowed. Yes this. It seems to be a modern day phenomenon and all rather bizarre. Don't get me wrong more than happy for people to have their opinion and we realise our products won't be for everyone, folk have preferences and that's cool. There's loads of other good stuff out there, take our choice and enjoy whatever you opt for in the end. It's some of the criticism that borders on slander that bewilders. People coming up with comments that they state as facts and they very rarely are. I do wonder why people do it and is there an ulterior motive at play here. In the past 24 hours we've brought to market a great GA aircraft that we and many think will set a new benchmark in this sim. It's been met with close to universal satisfaction and a hell of a lot of praise. We've enjoyed developing it, it's been a slog and a challenge but we've stuck with it and ended up with something we're proud of and will be even prouder when more touches are added mainly based off the feedback of you users. It should be a great time for the community and for us, we like to engage and listen to the praise and constructive criticism it's all part of the game/sim/experience, bring it on. But to be told we've 'cut corners' we're 'money grabbing' we've developed a 'port' we're 'novices when it comes to texturing and modeling' amongst other things is rather sad. I feel for the devs, highly skilled eves who have worked on this and done a tremendous job on it too, both on a coding and artistic front. Working with that base code is no simple task but we stuck at it and we've arrived here. We do tell ourselves and we can see the evidence that many people appreciate the effort and it's great to see so many users enjoying the Arrow now and they'll continue to use it and enjoy it for many a month and potentially years to come. It's for each and everyone of those folk that we continue doing what we do and long may it continue.
March 11, 20215 yr I now have 3 good hangar queens. the 172S Analog, the Piper Seminole Twin and now the JF Piper Arrow. 🙂 It's obviously not a reflection on JF. The above 3 are my best GA aircrafts I fly...i.e if I do GA. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

March 11, 20215 yr Since JF has been responsive to feedback and there are plans to add some visual representation of icing - l plan to grab this tonight and give it a spin, although it's the Turbo in a few weeks I am really interested in. March 11, 20215 yr You can install the JF Piper arrow in the community folder and once its installed, cut and paste the folder into a directory/folder to your liking and use the linker to link it to the community folder. JF doesn't have to do a thing. Edited March 11, 20215 yr by Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

Thanks, I appreciate that. And please don't take my comments on textures as ill-intended. I'm withholding full judgement on the plane until I get it off the tarmac, but in terms of appearance, sound, and configurability I feel completely satisfied with what I got. 3 minutes ago, Manny said: You can install the JF Piper arroe in the community folder and once its instlled, cut and paste into a directort/folder toyour liking and use the linker to link it to the community folder. But it's an extra step that could possibly be avoided, and I dislike moving things that have an automated installer because it can tend to break uninstallers and lead to crud hanging around on your system that you don't want. Not sure if that would be a case with this product in particular, but it would be a nice feature to have regardless, if it doesn't pose other technical obstacles. March 11, 20215 yr Quick question to @JustFlightScott does the coming turbo arrow will have the same VC cockpit or will it be based on a different aircraft ? I mean appart from the change on the engine will there be other change in terms of avionics/cockpit style etc.. I'm on the fence for this GA, probably won't buy both even with the nice discount offered so trying to make my mind on the one I would likely enjoy the most. Maybe you already shared some preview screenshot? If it is the case sorry I have missed them.
