i got stutters when i played with LOD and took it from 90 up to 120 but that is the only time so far

I have noticed the game uses all cores a lot more often lately

Yes, and one thread (on the 16th core on my system) runs amok sometimes, has 100% for a while and usually gets calmer after a short while. Sometimes it doesn't, though. I hope they find this bug soon.

Has anyone figured out the stupid autopilot in this thing?  I've tried following the manual but every time I turn it on it just turns hard to the left and tries to roll over.  I'm lost on this.  Heading, GPS via Nav or Omni, doesn't matter.

Something is way wrong with the autopilot here.  Not even turning it on, just clicking the altitude hold clickspot results in the hard bank behavior.

My channel vid for the Carenado vs Just Flight PA-28 Arrow Showdown

Enjoyed it Alan.

The JF is worth every penny its great apart from the cream paneling from the red up the seat belt thats in you view when looking left doing circuits is terrible. So is the roof.

The seats, floor main panel gaugers are all really well done. I did not like the windscreen but I changed that. As you point out the JF flight model is so much better. If JF fix the poor texturing it would be perfect.

Same for me

Don't know how I fixed it, but after playing around with it for like 15 minutes in flight doing crazy circles and dives the whole time it finally worked 🤷‍♂️

In the same place and same conditions?
This sim is weird. If I fly south of Salzburg, every time it’s a stutter fest. Doesn’t happen anywhere else, not even over Sydney.

I find Salzburg to be a stutter / pause area as well Ian.  I can reproduce every time if I fly north-east from the airport over the large railway station.
It used to have large terrain spikes to the north-east, which Asobo eventually fixed, but my pauses actually happened since then.

I hope they didn't use some algorithm to fix the spikes that has affected performance by messing up the mesh. I am convinced this is scenery / mesh related now as I can repeat it, yet other areas seem completely pause / stutter free.
I do a test run between Sedona and Flagstaff which seems to be completely free of the issue. (apart from the morphing / shapeshifting mountains ) Strangely enough, before they fixed the mesh issue at Flagstaff (Black lines / steps across the runway) it was similar to the issues we are seeing now - I had bad pauses / stuttering when approaching the airport - all gone at Flagstaff now since they fixed the broken runway.

So I personally think it is due to some mesh adjustments they are doing, and broken mesh causes these issues.  Some areas are fixed, while others have been affected the other way.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

AS mentioned in the Tasmania scenery thread, Hobart gives me stutters but other photogammetry areas like the QLD Gold Coast do not nor do things like St maartens where I have a heap of payware.  It is almost like some areas are buggy.

OK tested this a bit, the micro stutters and fps drops seem to be connected to certain spots in the scenery often but not always near the default airports. The "manipulators" suddenly start spiking and you get stutters as you approach.

@marsman2020 Surgested NZ for better flights. I just did my first real flight from NZWF to NZUK waypoints PILAD-PAMPU, what a wonderfull aircraft, very slow but really nice and engaging to fly.

NZ does seem better I only had one "moment" but the rest was "normal"

If you want to do this flight, I think its perfect for this aircraft and the sim at the moment, i will do a tour of NZ as the views blow be away. I used live weather and set time to 7:50am. The light and views were fantastic and the PA-27A was perfect for this short flight.

Thanks marsman for the idea. I use the AP to see and it was fine, HDG worked and so did NAV.

I had to create a new HOTAS profile for this bird as my previous stock Cessna sensitivities were making this bird not reactive enough. Excessive force had to be applied on yoke and now, with default 0% reactivities and deadzones it feels way more responsive and enjoyable.

@Nyxx  NZ has been a favourite of mine for a long time.  Some good addons too!  Try to remember where you are still having some slight issues in NZ, and I will avoid the areas next time.

If I can find some trouble free areas to fly, I may still buy the JF Arrow today.

@Aristoteles  Thanks for the tip on sensitivity adjustments.  It is a shame, as I have my settings just right for all of the other aircraft now, so I don't really want to change just for this. (although I suppose it only takes a minute to put them back or create another profile).

Asobo are supposed to be looking at individual controller settings for individual aircraft.  That would be good in this case.  They can already do it for custom camera views of course, so hopefully it would just be an extension of that.

@Bobcat. Duplicate your Profile in the UI dropwdown. Rename and modify it. Done. 2 Minutes.
