March 10, 20215 yr Hi despite following every guide I have found, and now clocking up between 20 and 30 hrs I cannot sort this. I have downloaded the 172 SP with 430 but I need to be using it with the RXP plug-in displaying the 430 in the panel. I have the RSG unit to control it with. I have followed to the letter the printed and online version of the tutorial for the Baron 58, testing on the Baron, and that does work work either. I am offering Cash to anyone who can sort it. Not trying to be rude, but I don't have time for a hobby based on messing around with the sim, I just want to fly. Something is missing in all of the instructions available and I am going insane with this. Does anyone have the expertise to write a dummy-can't-fail guide on how to do this. There must be a couple of elements of the instructions that are missing (to allow for issues) as when I try literally nothing at all changes in the aircraft. I write instructions for use on our systems and I have to include elements for when things go slightly wrong, even including expected user error or misunderstanding resolutions.

Hi, Following the Baron tutorial to the letter shouldn't leave much place to errors, therefore this might be something else. Can you please describe in more details "doesn't work"? March 10, 20215 yr Author Hi thanks for coming back to me. I have RXP gns 430 X2 purchased I have RSG 430 in my hard panel I have real world database for RXP I can get an appropriate display in my hard RSG panel ( I know how to achieve that.) I cannot get anything but the original version of the sim 430 in the sim panel. I never have, in any attempt, on any aircraft. due to this the displays do not agree and the controls are only 1/2 correct plus the database is only the xplane one. a long time ago RSG guys set up a Carrenado 210 for me which is beautiful. My sim panel (screen graphic) is mimicking my RSG unit (in my constructed hard-physical panel), and displays the RXP information identically to the RSG display, all perfect. I just need to do the same in either the xplane 172 -430 model or the Airfoillabs 172 but I'm taking on real world IFR training in a 172 so really need to duplicate the panel as much as possible. the step that causes a GNS430 to overwrite, replace or delete an original unit has never worked for me. I even tried using plane maker and realised that's another hobby I don't have time to learn lol. thanks in advance for any insight to where this fails

Do you mean you can a popped out window so that its frame is displaying inside the RSG embedded monitor? If so, this shouldn't be different with the RXP GNS: pop it out (RXP plugin menu) and drag the window like you're used to. If you're talking about something else though I'm not sure what you're referring to!? 31 minutes ago, PylotPete said: due to this the displays do not agree and the controls are only 1/2 correct plus the database is only the xplane one. If you add the RXP GNS to an aircraft, it won't replace the stock one which could be already configured in the aircraft. The RXP GNS can display atop the default in the 3D cockpit (and effectively hide it), and it can display in a popup/popped out window in addition. Do I understand you'd like to remove the stock one from the 3D cockpit?
March 10, 20215 yr Author what I would like is to see the display on my 'Physical' GNS box (from real sim gear) and the same data showing in the aircraft GNS box, with both of those responding to the commands of the 'Physical' RSG GNS box. This 'data' being the 'proper' data that we get by purchasing PXP. I'm not worried about the look of the bezel in the aircraft or the fact that a 'window' of that new data sits over the original pretend display. Just that it does it in a usable way. The best I have managed to achieve, is the correct data in the RSG (from RXP) working fine but I cannot duplicate the data into the aircraft panel either 2d or 3d. I have manged to get a bit of a data window copied, to be a broken view, behind a panel radio low down in the radio stack. But no juggling with the ini file makes it a prominent display or moves it around the view to where it can be used. does that make sense? Regards, Pete
March 11, 20215 yr Ok so you got the popped out window displaying in the RSG hardware ok. But you'd also like displaying the same RXP gauge on the 3D cockpit at the same time, in place of the stock GNS 430 isn't it? When attempting to do it, you've manage to display the RXP GNS on the main panel but not at the correct location, or not at the right size? Did you made sure to subtract the Y coordinate from the panel_preview bitmap height when calculating the position? It is maybe the step you've missed because X-Plane coordinate system is upside down (inherited from OpenGL coordinate system).
March 13, 20215 yr Author Hi thanks for your input. Yes we are on the same oage regarding intended outcome. I didn't manage to get it sorted. Despite finding some of the RXP.ini files posted online, I still got nowhere. I asked the guys from RealSimGear to help and with a quick dial-In, it was sorted in minutes. I can't explain why transplanting the file in the same way I did, it just worked straight away. We then attempted the Long-winded version with coordinates etc on a different aircraft and that did also work I think it seems that if the display does not align with the panel correctly it is effectively 'Hidden' behind other graphics. This case creates a scenario where it's a bit more win-fail. I can see now that any mistakes can lead to a fail rather than a 'nearly'. After spending too long, frustration set's in and the red mist decends.
