The only chance we have for a realistic camera system

Would be interesting if someone explained what is missing in the current camera system. Does FSRealistic need some special camera shaking possibilities that MSFS does not supply?

Unfortunately this is not my area of expertise. I just trust the devs and voted for what he needed 🙂

I hope and think there will be tons of 3rd party add ons people want from other sim's and at some point there is a market for them, they will be developed. I think liveries might have been a bad example, but aircraft, that is a different story. I am fine with most of the default aircraft at this time, and the ones with mods. But I also realize people want all types of aircraft, from GA, to military, to jets of all types, gliders, balloons, etc...  Some people want to flip every switch, some people don't give a rats. I also did not expect and am fine with the default Showcase Camera, and other default camera systems. But I hope everyone gets what they want as an option. Either added to the core sim, or freeware or payware options of all kinds.

Overtime, and I have no idea how long, I think people will get most of what they want. It's just gonna take time.

Hope y'all get your camera thingy 🙂

Wait a sec....

just a while back you said...

Again, you clearly don't know what FSRealistic (or XPRealistic) is about, so at least learn about it and then make some meaningful comments if you want.

Well....I did take the time to learn about it before I was ready to comment...and agree with others who asked that it appears to be an app that in addition to expand and add functionality to the view system, seems to add sounds based on events.

Your title of this post: "The only chance we have for a realistic camera system"

You seem to want meaningful comments....here are some:

  1. Make your titles a bit more focused on topic and less hyperbole
  2. Don't ask us to learn about the app, then admit that there is a part of the app that is not your area of expertise
  3. Resist the urge to respond negatively to this or any other reply here that is clearly just trying to understand why you believe that this app is "The only chance we have for a realistic camera system"...you should instead respond gracefully and with tact if you feel some are trying to ridicule you for making a post with such an objective title.

Finally, I fully support simmers supporting great devs who are trying to enhance our simming experience, and my reply has nothing to do with that...I'll vote for the dev's cause and wish him luck in getting it up and running for MSFS because we can't enough good devs in MSFS.

I personally don't need a new view system as I've learned the default system, mapped controls to easily manipulate it.  When I want it to get shots at interesting angles and no dreaded "fisheye" effect, I use all the view options, while most use only the zoom and rotate functions which leads to the fisheye and repeated angles....you won't find any in these shots

XP Realistic isnt a camera addon is it.....it simulates movement, whats cameras got to do with it?? There is a free camera addon available at flightsim.to......we dont need another camera, there is 2 payware and one freeware available right now.

XP Realistic in XP11 was awesome, looking forward to it very much in FS2020.

Regards

Paul EGCC

All I need to add is what I'm used to:  simple fly-by and tower views would be real nice.  I'm surprised they did not include a simple fly-by just like P3D/FSX employs it's very nice.

So much rage here, I feel sorry for you.

I was not talking to you so I don't understand why you suddenly start defending yourself.

By the way, I am sorry if you don't like the title, I will surely ask your permission next time.

Your are talking nonsense.

Even if he was talking nonsense your response isn't helping your case much bud.. Time to reflect and re assess.

@Maxis This topic just goes sideways because of people getting into conversations they are not in.

Exactly what you are doing right know.

I will stop here.

There was no rage detectable, just irritation. It was you who opened a thread asking for a "realistic camera system". And it was also you who admitted that he has no clue what's wrong or not realistic in the existing camera system.

Like @tull just said, it's simulating movement.

Does this affect how the camera moves? Yes, it is part of the camera system...

Of course you can disagree, and of course I don't know what's missing technically, you just have to read the OP from the MSFS forums to know that.

All I know is the current MSFS functionalities are not enough in order for FS Realistic to be ready, according to the devs.

What is it so hard to understand?

Alright I admit, I did not know that was what you were talking about from the title. So I guess I was wrong to post. But no matter what 3rd party item you want, hopefully someone will develop it for you and us, or become part of the core. I think in time, and it may be a long time, most people will get most of what they want. Or at least I hope so.

What rage???

I always understood that any comment here was widely addressed to all. The alternative is a PM. I realize that Steve has responded to some of your apparent contradictions, but there again, I did not detect any antagonism.

I just love sarcasm ... I use it all the time. Unfortunately, it rarely achieves very much.

Nonsense??? I thought it was a very plain and constructive post. Steve Dra is normally constructive, helpful and not given to "nasty"  posts.

Finally, I really do not understand where you are coming from with this post.

I have XPlane 11 with Realistic.  It IS a great programme.  BUT, there is nothing really wrong with the MSFS approach either, once one comes to grips with it. If XPRealistic comes to MSFS, I will be buying it, but I am not hanging out for this release with trembling anticipation.

You came to the forums looking for support for a product. Ive observed the thread from the get go waiting for you to properly explain to everyone here who isnt familiar with your product to explain what it does and how is it different from whats built into the sim.

Instead of reading the room and maybe stepping back and saying hey "maybe i should show a demo or a video" as to how this thing works among the uninitiated among us. You instead lash out, got defensive and accuse me of interference ?

ROFLMAO  Oh good god when will these developers learn ..

Ok sir i promise i wont interfere any more .. (Neither will you get my support even if your product was worth it.)

Have at it

Cheers

I do not believe Noooch has a product. He is talking about XPRealistic as far as I know.

If in fact, he does have a product, and if he was referring to his product in this manner, I believe he has quite a bit to learn about customer relations. However that is just my opinion

I think further, that this would be my reaction too, if a developer treated me with this level of narrative.  Again, I do not think he has a product.

Good for you.

The Msfs approach make me think like an Accufeel camera. It is the same idea but much less visible. I don't say it is wrong, just not realistic. That is really funny how people put words in my mouth but I am not a puppet.

I am sorry but when you roll with an airplane, your head tends to maintain the horizon to counter the rolling in order not to be sick. That' exactly what the Addon does.

That s what I call realistic, if you don't like it, just don't buy it.

I love discussions where people disagree on a constructive way, what I don't like are people stepping in with unrelated subjects and making the conversation toxic. Unfortunately, the majority of the posts in this topic are within this category.

For the rest of your post, it seems you didn't read the thread from the begining, otherwise what contradictions are you talking about exactly ?
