Airbus A350 question

Recommended Posts

Am wondering if there is a high quality/study level A350 for P3dV4.

Did a search online and couldn't find anything that seemed very impressive. If there is one, can someone please point me in the right direction. If there isn't one, why not?

It seems like it would be something many people would be interested in.

Also, on an unrelated topic, am probably getting a Honeycomb Yoke & Throttle, but due to setup reasons, am unable to use separate rudder pedals.

Can it be used easily without rudder pedals? My current setup uses a rocker switch for the rudders and works pretty well, but want to upgrade.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanx.

No, there is none. Why? For instance because developing a study level aircraft takes years and A350 is a relatively young plane in use.
As for the controllers, if you want to fly airbus aircraft, think of the Thrustmaster Airbus series.

I also would really like to have such a A350 like FSLABS or PMDG quality....

That would be a instant buy for me. I find this plane very stunning. Those screens.....that huge cockpit. Just great.

It is such a complex aircraft pretty much on par with the A380. It will take some time to develop, dreaming of the day FSLabs announce it.

You may find operating without a rudder axis to be quite limiting.  The Thrustmaster TCA and T.16000M sticks at least have twist Z-axes that can be used for rudder and/or steering tiller.

There is a fairly good payware A350 for XPlane from Flight Factor. It's not super-duper-realistic, but it's better than anything available for FSX or P3D, so if you must have a simulator A350 then that's about the best choice for a flight sim at the moment. FSX and P3D only has very basic ones available and of the payware ones, they're all fairly terrible, barely making it into the 'better than nothing' category.

With regard to not having separate rudder pedals, the answer is yes, there's no problem working any flight sim aeroplane's rudder with another controller axis if you prefer to do that and very many people do so. I do that quite a lot and I actually do have some rudder pedals which I use when I feel like it, but often don't bother with them and use a joystick axis instead, just because I can.

FSL have already said they are working on something "heavier than an A320" (or something like that), and I doubt it's an A320 with extra fuel tanks, lol. Now the A330 (Neo) is probably another likely contender but it might as well be an A350 that they have started development on. It will take years either way.

It’s probably the A320 with sharklet wingtips that they’re talking about, those things have got to weigh a few pounds.

The thing is, I'm currently using a T.Flight Hotas X, and use a rocker switch on the throttle for rudders, since I'm not able to use separate rudder pedals.

It works pretty well.

But as I mentioned earlier, I'd like to upgrade to a Honeycomb system, and I'm wondering if not being able to use rudder pedals will cause any major difficulties with any aircraft I fly (commercial or GA) with the Honeycomb, since I won't have a rocker switch type access to use for rudders.

Will setting auto-rudders to (ON) in the P3d setup compensate enough for the lack of pedals along with using steering only?

The reason I'm asking is I don't want to shell out that much $ for a Honeycomb Yoke if it causes problems that can't be dealt with, even though the Honeycomb is a better system.

Let me know your thoughts.
