FlyByWire is seeking your feedback regarding custom navdata!

Hey everyone! We're in the process of exploring a possible major change in the FBW A32NX: shipping our own navdata, in a similar fashion to the Aerosoft CRJ and pretty much most payware airliners in previous sims.

How this would work is the plane would come with a free, out of date AIRAC cycle provided to us by Navigraph, and those with a Navigraph subscription would be able to update the AIRAC cycle to the current version. With a proper set of navdata like this, we would be able to support all ARINC-424 flight plan leg types, which means a completely functional lateral navigation system that can support published holds, speed restrictions, and procedures that are currently missing from the default navdata.

We are considering also having the option to revert back to the default navdata (with limited lateral navigation functionality) if you wish, since the A320's FMC does allow you to switch between two stored nav databases in real life as well.

Thoughts and feedback?

If the option for reversion to the default (just in case) is there i dont see why not. Sounds like an upgrade with the default as a decent fallback option.

I guess my question is if it would it be a complete hassle to do the in game flightplan or would the fmc automatically pick up the msfs navdata if it detected that the in game flightplanner was used ?

As a long time Navigraph subscriber I think this is a fantastic idea.

Yes, but please keep open the ability to revert back to MSFS data for those not interested in a Navigraph sub.
