Top Of Desc - CRJ

On the few flights i've done with the CRJ, I never get a TOD depicted on the PFD.  Does that need to be turned on or am I not doing something correctly?

I think so.... This is in the FMC, right?  It also never gave me rate of descent down so I am thinking I did something incorrect.

If you select an arrival airport without published approach or STAR, it will not load runway elevation and you won't get TOD or VNAV

It's a really annoying bug

Set the crz alt in the fmc and program in an alt constraint. It should work.

I set the crz altitude but did not enter a alt constraint anywhere.  Maybe that was the issue

I flew into ATL and used a STAR

Then if you did enter a cruise altitude and exec, it's another bug

It happened to me twice, I had to start the flight again to fix it

Had the same issue and it was also discussed on the Aerosoft forums, it doesn't seem to be related to having to have a  STAR as such but you do require an altitude constraint to be set near the destination.    Some people claim it's still flaky, others had the constraint set but wasn't working until they overwrote it with the same settings but I can't confirm but using that knowledge you should be able to get it to work.

I tried that, but it will overwrite all the waypoint with the same constraint.

I know it's a slightly different avionic, but I have zero issue with the CJ4, on this

It may have to do with discontinuities in the FMC, on the legs page. I always remove discontinuities after entering the flight plan, SID & STAR.

I've always been able to get tod displayed on my pfd. You have to make sure your flight plan is completed with no disco. you'll get the little circle on the pfd and you can also turn on the option to show it in more detail in the the vnav menu in the fmc
