Retrofitting a Skymaster

This may seem a bit silly but I would like to know if it is feasible to completely redo the panel on a Cessna Skymaster 337 Pressurized and use the same style panel and avionics in the new Cessna 206 turbo (http://turbostationair.cessna.com/avionics.chtml) This question of for real world aircraft. It's certainly possible, but perhaps not economically feasible. This would require a lot of new wiring to the back section of the airplane, where much of the Garmin 1000 computer modules are located. Sensing devices are also located in the wings, and would require wiring & plumbing. The installation would have to be done by Garmin certified installers; and at the moment, Garmin is being very picky to who they'll sell the Garmin 1000 system to. The demand for this unit is very high, and there is no excess production.I suppose there are already two alternators on the Skymaster, which is great, because the Garmin 1000 panel requires backup electrical sources. But then, existing electrical busses would need modifcation too, as well as installation of backup batteries. Changing from an existing plastic overlay panel to a new metal panel, is no problem; as it's done all the time. But labor and materials would be astronomical!And then, the decision of keeping vacuum backup instruments, or going fully electric would have to be made. More money and time; but it's all possible, if you can somehow purchase the system to start with.L.Adamson

This is great news. What I want to do is recreate the panel of a T206 Turbo for the FSD Skymaster. Recreate in the sense of making an actually class cockpit. It would be cheaper this way than to have custom built twin engine gauges from a simulator gauge maker. With the Garmin 1000 I can use two LCD panels and concentrate on creating the buttons and knobs.Anyway, I needed to know if the panel for the 206 could handle twin engines.Thanks for the info:)Thank youJason G.http://online.vatsimindicators.net/940901/4398.png

Sorry, Larry, in real life it is NOT possible. The G1000 is curently only certified for new aircraft (OEM installations), and cannot be retrofitted to older ones.
