So we get 51 FPS instead of 45? Wow!^^

Intel i9-13900K | Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master | RTX4090 | 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 | Be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX AiO | Win 11

Willing to be there is no significant difference between 11th i9 and 11th i7

SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

how in the h e double hockey sticks does one double the resolution and gain 5 FPS???

CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB
MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro |  GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K

I recently went from a 9700K to a 5800x and went from around 45fps to 55-60fps with a 3090 running at 4K... which is about a 20-30% improvement. So it is possible... but in reality, he's seeing single-digit FPS improvements.

Unfortunately, when I undock the ATC window to another display, I drop down to 35-40FPS... LOL.  It's frustrating working with this software.

It's important to keep in mind that this test could have been done before the hotfix, and even with that, the simulator's performance is not at its most consistent right now. I think we will have more accurate results once the situation stabilises a few patches later.

Overall though, Rocket Lake is not looking that good, especially with all the BIOS bugs that are reminiscent of the Ryzen 1000 series era (which was to be expected with a new architecture). The i5-11400F and the i5-11600KF are the clear winners of the line-up for their value alone, but if one is looking for a high-end gaming system they should go with Zen 3 or discounted Comet Lake.

And then we will get another update, and you will be down to 25.

Most probably. 😁

I think still MSFS is not yet fully optiimzed to take the full power of the CPU, thus there may some false positive in these benchmarks. I would say, let's wait until DX12 release and see now the CPU performance will change and based on that, we can see upgrade path if needed

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display

The article that claimed "20%!!!" was 20% to 10th Gen Intel....NOT to AMD 5000 series.  Also without knowing which version # of the sim was benchmarked, it's impossible to know if the data is valid.

Plus there are other major issues with 11th Gen Intel, look at the Gamers Nexus clock speed graphs, it's clocking lower then 10th gen in many instances.

Those Youtube hardware critic video titles are cringey as hell....😒

Asus Maximus X Hero Z370/ Windows 10
MSI Gaming X 1080Ti (2100 mhz OC Watercooled)
8700k (4.7ghz OC Watercooled)
32GB DDR4 3000 Ram
500GB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SERIES SSD M.2

If this is really the case, which I suspect it is from how underwhelming this release seems to be out there, I'm going with AMD, most likely the 5800x for the next upgrade. I'm still going to wait for reports from our fellow pilots before I make any decisions though.

The reviews from today certainly don't put the 11th gen in a favorable light so far.
