Intel’s 11th Gen Core i9 boost MSFS by 20% claim.

Recommended Posts

Honestly even if Intel CPUs are a bit faster in MSFS (which I'm withholding judgement on until I see a good comparison where the version is called out...also with the XBox using an AMD CPU, I have to imagine that once all the optimizations they are working on in the other branches get merged back into the PC version, AMD CPUs might get a boost) I'm not sure if it's worth it to me to have 2x+ the power draw to get the same speed.

So we get 51 FPS instead of 45? Wow!^^

This is exactly the reason why it is abosolutly  useless to give lower income jobs a pay rise.

Anyone else read this article? What do you think?

FS 2020 is very dependent on single core performance, so whatever increase in IPC or frequency you get, it reflects proportionally on the framerate in all CPU limited scenarios (787, A32NX cockpit, big airports, etc.)

However the 11th generation has only 8 cores and with the implementation of DX12 things may change.

If I had to upgrade now, I would still rather choose a Ryzen 5900X.

Actually I think the review had some typos... looks like to me.... 1440p with better fps than 1080p?

its one reason that i went for a 5950x instead of the 11900k, was lucky to do some work on a cooling pot for my friend , and was free to test the 11900k with AIO cooling and compare the 5950x.

ok its a super cpu with extremecooling LN2 but just that . if you look in some of the 11700 11900 treads in the hardware forum i give some hints but could not say all.

the i5-11600KF are the clear winners of the line-up for their value alone

that's the one I have in mind, too, wanted to wait for 11th gen first but seems I can upgrade my outdated system sooner than expected

Sorry if I missed something but what is the video card in  the machine test ? The reviewer doesn't use the intel chip of the motherboard I suppose ?

In any case whatever its effects , positive or negative, DX 12 should reshuffle the card deck.

While most of the PC you-tubers attacking 11900K, its clear that on MSFS you gain fps.

I am still with 8700K ( delidded) at 5.1ghz and possibly i will go with 11900K

Your "wow" indicates 5 or 10% increase in FPS is not substantial. I think it is.
