Calling this junk a yet thousands by a Cartoon 737 in MSFS?

I really think that some people make way too big an issue about the lack of PBR textures, as if they are some kind of gift from the gods. I fly the PMDG 737NGX and 777F (not the updated version) in P3Dv4, and the lack of PBR textures affects me about as much as the lack of a virtual toilet in the cabin.

This is no negative spin on the actual screenshots. But from what I can tell

AP-modes seem to be a wrong. (MCP SPD, when in VNAV but speed Window is blank)

F/O FD seems to be missing. the switch in ON and FD bars should be driven by master FCC (captain's side in this case)

No PBR(!)

Oil temp seems to be not simulated. IIRC typical needles would be at nine 'o clock position. certainly not at -40.

I will happily pass. if I want to fly a classic, I use the lovely IXEG 737 for xplane.

Wow, it's incredible how it needs to be CS to release such epic models... 767 757 727 L1011 and now the 737. What's next, the MD-11?

Huge slap in the face and wake up call for other devs. Shame it's probably not very high level, but for most simmers it'll be enough.

Well done CS, can't wait for more epic surprises like this one.

CS charges more than double the price. Expensive junk is usually worse than cheap junk...

Edit: In this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzbjcuZjMUc

The uploader arms both VNAV and LNAV on the ground, something that is not possible in the 737-300.

I think pbr makes a massive difference.  Just compare the NGXu to the old ngx.  big difference.

Good to hear CS have done this 737. This was the only 737 that was truly missing from FSX and P3D and I have waited 10 years for one to arrive. I am a long time user of CS products in FSX but not a single one in P3D. Hopped over to the CS site (noted they have new website portal for P3D stuff it seems as well) to check out the feedback comments. It is a Beta, there are heaps of bugs and fixes to be done. No matter how much I like CS products and the 737-300 series it can wait!. The last thing I want to deal with these days is yet another rushed, incomplete bug ridden sim model - had a gutful of all of them! Back to the Douglas Diesel for me! I will follow the progress from afar!

Doesn’t MilViz do a 737 Classic? I know there isn’t one for v5, but maybe at some point in the future? Does anyone have any experience with that one?

So... what's the verdict? Buy or wait?

Any showstoppers or other critical bugs?

I'll for sure buy it at some point since I love the classics

Small detail but they seem to always get the PFD colors way off in their airplanes.

Is this something that seems like a proper release of a product that'll be finished or does this seem like them trying to at least cash in on some work they've done before moving to MSFS?

Oh probably just using the customers to bug test it tha'ts all. They have some very dedicated simmers at their forum for their products over at CS who have been with them a long time and some have a lot of serious real time in aeroplanes big and small. The have all contributed over time to a lot of good mods and changes to the FSX models which were actually nearly all incorporated over time. So it will get done but when - don't hold your breath. Anyway uptake is amazing already gone from no liveries done for it to over 30 now available from their customers in their simops section. Told you they are a dedicated bunch!. Probably be 50-100 liveries in a few months.

MSFS no! They already on record as saying not going to bother doing stuff for MSFS just because of the lack of a comprehensive or proper SDK alone. They think FSX is a game and MSFS is an even bigger game! One of the CS Team is jet driver with Aeroflot I think or one of those and they are also based in that part of the world. Great isn't it that folk from that area Eastern Europe and parts of the former USSR, do the best Boeing models for flight sim and always have done! Not surprising there is a lot and I mean a lot! of keen simmers in that part of the world doing compatible scenery etc for FSX and P3D all of their own place and areas naturally.
