Very few GA aircraft have altitude hold even now, never lone back in the 70's but sim pilots have come to expect it.

The real world plane this addon is based upon doesn't have it anyway. The fact that JF added an alt hold that requires you to press the logo, so a hidden spot, to activate it, says enough. Imho they should never have added this fake option. They want to make the plane as real as possible, they made everything work as it should, and then they add this...? Odd. The fact that the function is bugged is a punishment. 😉 Instead of fixing it they should remove it: that would be the best fix!

Just don't click on it?

True - it is almost like they WANT to attract casual purchasers who will then proceed to complain about the price and lack of modern features - go figure.

I wouldn't and if possible would I disable that option but it's pretty clear there are 'die hard simmers' who use this fake option and that surprises me little. Of course I don't mind if they do but with all the talk about realism and serious simming on this forum it surprises me to see people here even use that option.

Back in days when I used to do some ferry flying on half broken airplanes and no autopilots I used to have blisters on by hands flying in turbulence . So no thanks I’m not going to sit in front  on my computer for  several hours ! I’m going to use autopilot with alt hold LOL

I use it on longer flights, it is handy to have when I want to make coffee or pick up snacks from the fridge and similar occasions, it is not visible in the plane and no one is forced to use it, personally I think it is nice option to have.

I kinda like that it doesn't have alt hold. Makes me really having to trim the aircraft properly. After that sure it pretty much flies itself!

Guys just FYI. Once in while I got days when I had fly with several primary students back to back. Usually it was flying block one hour+, plus preflight/postflight, plus debrief which roughly ended up 2 hours per student . After 4-6 hours of such flying  I was totally drained.

Now when I fly  with advanced students or post solo students who actually can fly themselves then I can fly 8 hours with no sweat  just little bit tired. You may consider them to be my autopilot LOL

Also All my friends who own aircraft and fly more than 2 hours fairly often install aftermarket autopilots ( S-tec and so on) that at least have heading/altitude hold. That is a must! So if  simmer  wants to fly far and see places autopilot is must as well. In this is hardcore and realistic !

People that are stating that altitude hold is not available on GA aircraft, show they haven't a clue.

The JF Arrow is fitted with a Piper Autocontrol III B autopilot which is just a rebadged Century IIB and the next generation of that, the Century IIIB, features alttiude hold and glideslope support, so I definitely don't get the impression that Altitude hold in GA aircraft is an unreasonable feature, even without the Garmin GFC 700, S-Tec 55 and Bendix KAP140 panels we see in sims.

This particular aircraft modeled by Just Flight did not have Alt Hold IRL. And thats how I fly it. Regardless if it could be be upgraded.

Any GA aircraft can be easily upgraded today, all it takes is money. Tht aircraft probably didn't have a G 530 in it either, when it was manufactured.

Just trim your aircraft. No need for alt hold
