Cockpit layout in new generation aircraft.

Recommended Posts

Yeah, what I meant was that Airbus style sidestick would not work. But I doubt Boeing would go for anything than real yoke due to artificial "feel" forces it is trying emulate. Even such larger-movement sidesticks might not be enough for an aircraft like 777. You should also start looking what other plane manufacturers are doing, not only Airbus or Boeing. Have you heard of the french aircraft maker Dassault? Very known company with long track record in military and civil aviation. They make larger business jets. Look at their latest Falcon EASy 900DX - considered to have the most advanced avionics at the moment and it is all fly-by-wire. I don't know specifics of their fly by wire but Dassault equipped it with a regular yoke, clearly they thought it was the best device. And Dassault makes all the military fighters with joysticks - you would think that this company would not hesitate to equip their business jets with joysticks if it thought there was some benefit.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg

For those that seem to think that Boeing only puts yokes in their heavy jets, don't forget the C-17.
