How do the ads work on Avsim?

Recommended Posts

Of lately I am noticing advertisements on Avsim forum (e.g., just now   I see MandM Direct, evidently sports clothes, also often see something called Joker. Just curious how these ads work. Are they selected from search histories of the current user, or from search histories of Avsim members in general, or are these just ads that have paid Avsim to run them??

My system specs: Intel i9-10850@3.6 - 5.2 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 32GB  DDR4  RAMNoctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler,1TB Seagate SSD, 4TB Seagate HD, Windows 10, Asus 32 inch monitor, Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, Rudder Pedals and Trim Wheel     Sims: MSFS2020      Preferred Aircraft  Black Square Bonanza, and Baron, A2A Comanche, PMDG DC-6, Red Wing L1049

They target your browsing history and will select appropriate ads which might appeal to you, but if there is nothing too appropriate in the range of ads it can load in, you will see other stuff.
