WU4: Terrible stutters (multiplayer related?)

Recommended Posts

Yesterday i think i was to fast speaking from smoothness in an early test 😒 today i had a flight from EDDB to the beautiful made LFMN Nice ( real nice work on this Airport, thumbs up )

but the stuttering and some ministopps with loosing this smoothness that I mentioned at all was just bad over the whole flight.

Don`t know what these guys doeing to bring that in with every update almost, with that hotfix last time it was pretty good for me, now all is gone - again 🤔

At the moment i doeing a second flight around Japan with shot off the traffic at all ( Multiplayer is always off for me ) and now it is realy pretty fine but holy before i had the same smoothness

with AI on ( allways use AI offline traffic thats OK for me ) but what is a Sim without AI Traffic ??

It worked before so ; ASOBO what is goeing on beheind your doors that we get allways the same probs that you fixed before with some kind of hotfix and bring it back with a new update ???????

cheers 😏

I tried turning MP off and loaded in at LFMN.  The major stutter when facing the terminal towards the city is still there.  I think it's related to an object somewhere.  So while there is generally a slight performance increase, the stutter is still there.

Just catching up on this thread....

EHRD on west Europe equals massive stutters down to 3fps, turned off MP and all is good.

back end issue then with player sessions, and a need to look at the infrastructure there.

Massive stutters here since WU4... jeez... i cannot believe this.Off to learn DCS until this sim has some stability.

I still have it installed and it's fully loaded, but I have no desire to even run it. I did the update only to still find stutters and slow down in many locations. Very unhappy with how this has turned out. The silver lining is that I re-discovered the best sim ever I've ever invested in. XP 11 is giving me all the joy I can handle right now. Maybe in a few years I can re-discover MSFS all over again. For now. I'm done with MSFS.

Im wondering if people who say that they have great fps with the latest WU, are actually flying in congested airspace or not. I also have great smoothness when flying in uncongested airspace. The problem arises when more players are close to you.

No, i think they are just the type that enjoy seeing others have issues,,Anyone stating it is perfect just now is either a bare faced liar, or have some fantastic system as there's even guys over on the msfs forum complaining their 3090 cards are dropping to single fps  figures...

Single digits for me too.

contrast that to the landing challenge where I get 60fps - what’s one of the differences?

For me turning off multiplayer fixed the issue. Before that - terrible stutters near major airports - EGLL, EGLC, EGGD. After turning off MP I get 30-40fps on approach to large airports. Ultra with terrain LOD 150, 4K. CPU usage at 20-30%, GPU at +90%. Filed to zendesk.

Tried the latest FBW 32NX stable release at stock KRNO and FB KDEN and both were stutter-fest until turning off MP - still had live traffic on and stutters were almost non-existent.

I saw another report on the MSFS forum similar to yours. All players in a group flight in MP, all flying the C208, and all seeing major stutters simultaneously. It turned out that all were flying the stock C208 except one player who had a mod, and his aircraft was the source of the stuttering for the entire group. He left the server and performance increased for the rest of the users. He rejoined, and everyone’s performance tanked again. He exited again, removed the mod, and rejoined, and everything was good from then on.

Very interesting. I just had someone reply to my post over at the ms forums, basically saying the same as you. The stutters are related to liveries. If everyone flys stock liveries the stutters wont happen.

A very good alternative to the built in multiplayer is Join FS which causes no stutters. Then the built in multiplayer can be disabled.
