Any Dust Cover Ideas for my HoneyComb?

Recommended Posts

I need to come up with some better way than I'm currently using to cover my Honeycomb Alpha Yoke (with mounted Saitek radio panel on top).

If I told you what I've currently been using you'd laugh at me (my wife's unused shower caps) 🙄

I've tried buying some cheap custom made clear plastic covers...but the "custom" part didn't turn out so well and they were even larger and more hideous than the shower caps so I don't use them.

Anyone in a similar position and have a better idea?

Does you wife sew?  Choose an aviation related fabric, some complimentary piping for the edging, and have her  make some fabric slipovers.

Yep. That's the idea.  Those look durable enough to travel with and use at shows.  Don't really need the fabric to be that substantial if they are just shaped  well.

Looks like Honeycomb will sell them for $14 a piece.  Not too bad.

What a good idea.  I've always been irritated by my equipment gathering dust and never even considered dust covers.

I have the new Airbus controller and may just cut off the top of its box and use it as a slipover dust cover.  I can make a keyboard cover with a few pieces of cardboard cereal boxes and some tape or perhaps a few bits of old plastic.

Considering so much of what we buy these days still comes wrapped in plastic bags, it should be easy enough to find something that will cover most objects, and saves them going into landfill. I hope when Honeycomb sells these, they don't come wrapped in plastic!

Thanks guys, already knew about the Honeycomb covers but I think that's still just an idea they're toying with and so those covers are not yet for sale. I've been waiting for the announcement that they can be purchased but until then I need to find a  better solution than the shower caps, lol.
