FSX keeps crashing when I right click

Recommended Posts

After a certain time that fsx is running, right clicking to show the menu can hang the simulator and crashing it. It happens on the ground when I arrive and crashed during a climb for a oceanic flight on VATSIM. I do not want my sim to crash during a long flight. Here is the log from AppCrashView

How many times did you right-click? After a certain number of times the sim crashes.

This is, as I understand, a known FSX bug that was never fixed. I just use the keyboard to change view, and the Alt key to bring up the menu bar if it's hidden, and holding the Alt key to hide it.

Apart from that I don't think there's much else to do.

I don't know how many times it takes to trigger the CTD, but if it's enough to have lost count then I'd bet that was your problem.

I should point out that right clicking items in the VC that are meant to be right-clicked shouldn't be an issue, just right-clicking open space and bringing up the menu.

In addition to the above comments, try running FSX in the Windows Mode instead of Full Screen.
