Quest 2 and FOV Tangent

Recommended Posts

Hi. If I'm only using the headset and Link. ie not streaming or Mirroring. Do I have to worry about the Oculus Debug tool and FOV Tangent Multiplier. or does that only affect Streaming Recording and Mirroring ?

To get the most out of your headset it’s a good idea to run OTT, irrespective of mirroring. The FOV multiplier will help out your system no end.

This is confusing since the wording makes it sound like it doesn't effect the headset.  Just tried changing these values and what a difference in frame rate.  Settled on .0 horizontal and .90 vertical for now but will adjust as needed.  Can change on the fly as well which is nice, exit out of vr mode, change settings and save in OTT, enter vr mode again.  Basically it shrinks the FOV allowing less to be displayed in the headset, play around to where you feel it isn't to distracting and balance out with other settings.
