Hi

can I zoom out far away from the airplane alike in X-Plane etc?

You cannot zoom out much but if you need to get far away you can use the drone view.

The drone camera will do that but you have to map the movements to your controller.

How far do you want to go? I've had the drone cam viewing Manchester, whilst my aircraft is over Birmingham...

How do you map yours bs?  I just got the airbus controller and haven't really mastered the drone yet

For the external view, I use the mouse with the right button pressed.

I don't have the drone mapped yet but since the cameras are modal you can use anything that is currently mapped to any other camera.

I use an xbox controller for the camera views. It works great for the drone camera for pre-flights and walking around outside the aircraft. I also have it mapped to cockpit views so I a can move around inside the cockpit to get a better look at things like the overhead panel.

I wish you could zoom away from the plane, but not change the zoom of the landscape. Not possible in external view, but maybe in drone.

Fine in drone mode, as above poster - Xbox controller is great for that....
