Framerate gradually reducing over time : anyone ?

Recommended Posts

Currently I am testing the Prosim 737 in MSFS.

In december I first started testing before the US world update. Framerate was stable.

After the US update I suffered a lot from CYD’s with Prosim. Now after several  Prosim updates I can fly without CTD’s.

The only issue now is that the framerate is reducing gradually over time.

Amsterdam - Nice

At Amsterdam 55+ FPS. When I reach the Mediterranean and even fly over sea the framerate has dropped to 23. When arriving at Nice the framerate is 19-20.

If I shutdown MSFS and then reboot it and start at Nice I see 66 FPS. When taking off and then turning over the city the framerate is 55+ ....

I am trying to find out if this is caused by Prosim or that this is happening also with other (addon) aircraft ...

Anyone has seen this behavior ?

Thanks for all suggestions,

Gerard

Kind of.  What's now happening here is I take off say in Northern California and all's great all the way to my destination airport, then frame rate consistently tanks the closer I get to the runway, sometimes 20 miles out, sometimes just a few.  This did not happen up until fairly recently, WU3/4 perhaps.   And these destination airports are quite modest, KACV for example.  KSBA is a little more, but seriously it's just really screwed up now these were a piece of cake to handle not long ago.   The big teaser is the first 85% of the flight is great...but no can land

Nope, sorry.

Whats your GPU mem temp? NOT GPU temp. If thats goes to high it will trottle back you 3090 and FPS will drop. Running unlimited is a really bad idea you could try the same flight but lock FPS to 30 and see what happens.

The GPU mem temps are good. And you can see that the GPU can run this without a problem.
I also did 2 tests with the framerate externally locked to 30 ( NVCP ). The outcome is the same.

The culprit it the main thread ...  Flying over the sea with no land in front of me is already too much now ...

Try turning off AI/Multiplayer and see if it improves

Already I have disabled live AI. Only static aircraft.

Will check multiplayer. However, I never see moving aircraft.

I can not even fly now....A32NX...same as above....I take off great and no problems...the closer I get to my destination  my Frame Rate gored from like 25 to 18 to 10 to 6 and then to 2 and cuts out. Stuck in midair over the city. I have tried everything. For a couple weeks now reviewing and trying everyones suggestions.

Just cant land anywhere due to frame rate to almost ZERO!

Had same issue when I got my 3090. Found that increasing the cache solved the issue. Had it at 8G as I have a very fast connection. Increased to 32 and big improvement but still occasional big drops. Increased to 48G and haven't had a fps degradation in over a week.

I bet it's another red herring, but worth a try.  I have used 32 all along, never had an issue like this with it on, off, or at less amounts of cache.  I have a 500mbit connection myself.

All you guys with landing framerate problems, do a trip to TNCM and land there. Is it smooth? Then you're probably having the same issue I'm having. Certain geographical areas in the sim are associated with memory leaks. I can fly around the St. Maarten area no problem, but if I head west and overfly Haiti it starts to drag, and is a slide show by the time I get to Cuba. If I stick it out and point a little northwest, it starts getting better once I'm west of Miami. Same if I head south - once I get near Venezuela the framerate starts to drop as the memory usage increases to absurd levels. If I keep going, it's a slideshow before I get to the middle of Guyana. However, I can fly to Curaçao without issue even though it's about the same distance as it is to the spot near Venezuela where things start slowing down, and it's still south of where I started.

You say you are testing the prosim 737..  have you tried an identical flight in a default aircraft  eg the A320Neo  (not the FBW one) and seen whether you get a similar decrease in Frames in the same places?

I have the same, memory usage is not changing, same on the temp on CPU-GPU.
