Honeycomb Alpha software or FSUIPC

Recommended Posts

I'm moving from an old CH products yolk to the honeycomb Alpha.  I have MOST of my PMGD, Qualitysim  And areosoft Airbus Keypresses programmed through FSUIPC for the CH yolk and TQ.; I'm accustomed to it and  I like it.

Just got my Alpha yesterday and wonder... is it better to program through FSUIPC or the Honeycomb configurator?  (My Bravo TQ is on backorder from Sporty's)

Thank s in advance,

Walter

I just use FSUIPC and don't keep the HC Configurator installed. I just found it not very user friendly. Just my perspective.

You dont say which sim you are using - but I might suggest you try Simhangers Tutorials

I'm  real dill when it comes to setting up controllers - but this guy got even me to setup both Alpha and Bravo units in a complicated P3D - easier XP and very simple MSFS

If using FSUIPC with the Alpha or Bravo, make user that you are using the latest version of FSUIPC6 which has support for up to 128 buttons. If still using FSUIPC5, there are lua scripts available for both  the Bravo and Alpha to handle the buttons outside the normal 0-31(or 1-32) button range.

There is also a user contributed lua script to handle the Bravo lights (which I think is what the Aerosoft AFC Bridge / WASM is supposed to do), but I haven't tried this yet. I mat try this in the next few days (as my Bravo has just recently arrived!).

Going with FSUIPC 7 on P3Dv4.5.  Thanks for the input.  Will try the Simhanger youtube though.

Fairly certain that FSUPIC7 is only for MSFS.

I’d recommend using FSUIPC as I find it much more flexible and predictable with the Honeycomb Alpha in P3D. It does depend on what type of flying you are doing, though, if you’re just flying GA then the honeycomb default settings may suit your needs.
