The Longitude With Mods Is A Winning Combination

Featured Replies

I have to say that with all the relevant mods installed I'm enjoying the Cessna Citation Longitude more and more. Obviously, there is only so much modders can do due to files being encrypted, still, it pretty much now flies "by the book".

So three thumbs up to the mod community.

These are the mods you need (for anyone who has been asleep these past 7 months)

1. Darkfly's flight dynamics mod.

Darkfly's Flight Dynamics Mod

The mod goes straight into the community folder and doesn't require any messing around with core files anymore.

2. The Working Title G3000

Working Title G3000 Version 0.61 - With Navigraph Chart Integration

3. A very nice livery (see crappy screenshot)

... unless you fly in Europe at the moment, then it's best to stick with WT G3000 v5.1... (hopefully be fixed with v6.2)

But that said it's a massive improvement over the default and makes it actually worth flying. Well, when I'm not enjoying Working Title's CJ4 anyway.

I am curious about the longitude and prefer it over the CJ4. I love the avionics in the longitude and feel right at home because I am comfortable flying the TBM930.

How does the longitude compare with the TBM 930 when both are using WT G3000 mod? Featurewise are they both in the same ballpark or is the TBM more simulated?

Also if you know how to fly the TBM, will it be easy for me to transfer over to the longitude since the cockpits are using the same avionics?

What's wrong with v6.1?

There's a bug that causes the sim to creak to a halt - 70fps to 5fps. Apparently only occurs if you are flying in Europe (something to do with airport data). They are currently testing a fix for it...

It's the mods I've been using - it makes for a decent plane.  Once WT nails the base navigation we'll be golden.

I miss an ambulance livery. I use the excellent Red Cross one, but is not the same, and I do not want to transport big robbers with suit and tie.

Hard to compare. One is a turboprop, the other a jet. The Longitude is built for long-rage cruise. I saw a ad video for the TBM series that suggested that the TBM 930 as a good choice for  <500 nm flights.

That said, I find the Longitude a lot more slippery than the TBM, especially if you're not hitting the right vapp and vref speeds. The TBM has the usual turboprop problems that all turboprops in FS had/have. Plenty of threads about that.

Good evening

I think all the Longitude pilots are here.

Question : At what point do you activate <AUTO THROTTLE> during the take-off phase ?  I use SHIFT+R to activate.

If someone can give me a short summary of your actions from when the take-off roll starts , it would be greatly appreciated.

I know - there could be tons of Youtube videos to find my answers - even saw one today, the guy says AT is ON , but there is "zilts" indicated on PFD - go figure.

I use Dakfly and WT G3000/5000 mods.

Greetings.
