High CPU usage from nowhere.

Hello again. A very strange behavior in P3D V5. When I'm on flight level where is no scenery to generate objects, I get very strong usage by prepar. What can be cause this? Because I'm concerned about it, as u can see my GPU just chillin in the corner when CPU working hard (for what?) i7 8700K @4.8 all cores, I mean it's weird

I'd look at your LOD radius and autogen settings, as heavy autogen hits the CPU pretty hard.  Both autogen and heavy AI traffic could be issues in a high-density area like Shanghai, especially with the sliders set too high.

I'd start by pulling the autogen/scenery draw distance, autogen vegetation density, and LOD radius all back at least one notch, then see how that goes and adjust from there.

Doesn't help. I think something wrong with some programs and their settings like Active Sky settings...

I have no problem with AS. Have you tried disabling AS to see if that is the case?

Start task manager to run with P3Dv5 then check what is running with P3D.

Hi,

 

i had exactly the same problem after the installation of the nvidia driver. I had to restore  default settings in ncp and then set again my settings. 
after that, my Cpu usage is back at a normal level ( i agree weird relation between cpu and gpu )

What are your NCP settings?
