Pilot2ATC giving expected runway at non-towered airport

Recommended Posts

New user of P2A here....really enjoying it so far after taking a couple nights to set it up properly and familiarize myself.

One thing I'm confused on however...why does ATC gives me expected runways when inbound to a non towered field?  20 miles out or so, I'll randomly get told to "expect runway 21".

After that, everything works as I would expect...I'll typically about 10 miles out or so be told "airport at your 9 o'clock, radar services terminated, frequency change to advisory approved."  Perfect.

It's not a big deal...I can obviously just ignore the instruction, but is there something I'm missing to have this not take place?

Assuming you're on a VFR flight, ATC is just giving you some information about your destination.

You may or may not get this in the real world, but being a program, P2A will do it every time when it sets up the arrival.  You can just ignore it since you are not getting vectors or communicating with a tower.
