Real Taxiway Signage coming

Featured Replies

The page says they’ve also corrected Taxiway names and parking spots at the airports they touched. That’s a lotta work.

The choice to only include Class C & D airports, while ignoring Class B seems a bit... odd.

Maybe they figure the larger USA airports will be done by other payware devs.

Have they sorted out the late pop-in that default signs suffer from though...?

That would be such a cop out if that were the case. Especially since they're adding runway remaining signs, NOISE ABATEMENT, International Terminal, etc signs that are mostly found in Class B hotspots. Not to mention the number of Class B airports is so much smaller than D and C. It would be childs play to do those too, comparatively.

I think there's got to be another reason we're overlooking.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Probably the reason is there'll be a followup product in a couple of months' time focused on the bigger airports.

The series will initially start in the United States with Class C and D airports.

There is nothing in that statement which suggests that they will not include Class B airports at some point.

At least some of the US class B airports have already been “silently fixed” by Asobo since release. I do a lot of flying into and out of KDTW, and on release, all the taxiways had fictitious taxiway names. At some point in the last few months over the course of various updates, that was fixed, along with most (though not all) “intruding” taxi lights at intersections.

I am curious how JustFlight has pulled this off for 450 airports. I modified my own home airport - and it was quite a bit of work. Not so much renaming the taxiways, but getting the taxi lights properly positioned. Taxi lights can be automatically placed by assigning them to the left and/or right edge property of a taxiway object, but that is exactly what causes them to intrude into the middle of the taxiways at intersections. Getting them to show up correctly requires a lot of hand editing using light line objects, or even placing individual lights in some cases.

Kudos to JustFlight

ORBX does touch up a bunch of airports with world updates, so that might have been done with the USA Update.

I noticed a couple UK airports had better parking after the UK update.

Instead of these kind of taxiway signage Addons I would prefer 3rd part Addon Airports.

The default airports including the De Luxe airports do not have correct  gate signage at all....

There's room for both kinds of products.

Then you have good taxi signage but the rest of the airport is simple....

But that’s just my opinion. I prefer an airport complete ...

There's never going to be custom scenery for every single airport in the country. This will be useful for those.

Compare MSFS 2020 simple to FSX simple.  I think we've all got ahead of ourselves a bit in expectations. Good things will come.  We're not even a year into this yet

That is true.

So everyone who likes this kind of products go ahead and buy them.

Myself I have Zinertek airport enhancements and it indeed improves the scenery...
