May 22, 20215 yr All I've used so far is Shadow Play (Geforce app) or whatever it's now called and if I run MSFS by vsync to 30hz, at 3440x1440, it's not smooth, which I can see is just too much for my system to do video capture and run the sim simultaneously. Are there more efficient capture recorders that can exploit multiprocessing better? Are there more efficient capture recorders that can exploit multiprocessing better? One of the tricks you can use (frequently used somewhat sneakily on flight sim promo videos for products), is to run the sim at half speed, record at 30 fps, then playback at twice normal speed, that way you get a smooth playback at 60 fps and a very detailed render of each frame. Cheap things to upgrade to improve video capture, are to add more RAM so the transfer of data can smoothly run rather than buffering and Use an SSD to record to. Once the thing is recorded, take it into a decent non-linear editor, such as Adobe Premiere, and render it out from that because that will also let you add some smoothing. You might also want to try using FRAPs to record things, which might possibly take a bit of the load off your GPU. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 23, 20215 yr Noel - I use FS Recorder, Fraps and Adobe Premier Elements. Too bad I'm not still in Broomfield we could get together. I moved to PHX in 2015. Would move back, but can't afford the real estate now. Outrageous! Bruce
May 23, 20215 yr Author OMG yes! Houses listed for 900K routinely get offers now for $100K over. Not a good time to buy real estate but will it ever improve? Ah, and thanks for the recommendation! May 23, 20215 yr The only way I'll get back there is move into my daughter's basement in Grant Ranch!😁 I have another daughter with a condo in Erie, but it's too small.
May 23, 20215 yr Author We live in a condo in Arvada having been burned out of the infamous Camp Fire in Paradise CA Nov 8, 2018. We also have two daughters, both in Lakewood. Condominiums are certainly the less costly way to go, except for the HOA fee! May 23, 20215 yr What a shame about the fire!!! So sorry! I keep looking and just can't find anything. My wife passed away two years ago and I need to get close to my daughters. At 83 things are going south and I may some need help one of these days! Ideally I need to be in the Littleton/Grant Ranch/Highlands Ranch area, although Broomfield/Lafayette would work as the Kaiser Permanente Rock Creek complex is right there. HOA fees are outrageous there too!
