May 27, 20215 yr The allegations are Simmarket wash their hands of any complaints about stolen IP and basically seem to say it is nothing to do with them they as they just provide the marketplace and they cannot possibly keep tabs on all the content. Most gamers seem to think that is fine and are happy to buy from them. personally I avoid them but that is my choice. As far as the mesh goes - it seems to be much the same situation as with the Orbx NZ product. The end result is definitely much closer to the real world and clearly worth it if you are personally familiar with how it should look. On the other hand if you are after an addon that will transform the landscape into some sort of stunning screen shot / video location to impress your friends with, just forget it. That sort of transformation needs textures/trees/objects all upgraded as well. TLDR if you want something closer to the look of the real life location it is worth it. if you are hoping for some spectacular transformation save your money and get the freeware or stay with default. Simmarket is not entirely in control of final prices, developers sets prices, and we can only set prices in EUR so, in this case, we set it at 8.99 EUR. Now, the universal rule of payments is that, whenever currency is exchanged and you want to pay something in a currency other than your own, you are going to lose money, because there some middleman which will apply a fee. This applies to everybody: - You when you want to pay in, let's say, USD on a site that has prices in EUR - We, when we get paid by Simmarket in EUR, but we have most of our bills paid either in CHF or USD, but none in EUR The 2nd point explains why we haven't set a price in EUR to be exactly like the Interbank rate, which today would be something like 9.99 USD = 8.20 EUR. First, because NOBODY ever gets the Interbank rate, except banks moving vast amount of money. But also because, by the time we get paid by Simmarket, it's possible the EUR might go up/down, we cannot possibly know so, to minimize the risk of exchange rates, we set the price in EUR slightly higher than the official Interbank rate. Also, take note that Simmarket prices in other currencies are only show as reference! ( they say so too ). They will always bill you in EUR so, even if you see USD 10.99 on Simmarket, it doesn't mean you will really pay 10.99 USD. You will pay 8.99 EUR, but the real price will be decided by whoever makes the transaction, be it your Credit Card or PayPal, with PayPal usually being more expensive. Basically, you should always try to buy from someone that is billing you in the currency of your payment system. If you have only an USD-based Credit Card or a PayPal account that holds USD, it's always cheaper to buy from a vendor that bills you in USD, or one that offers a *choice* what currency you will be billed on. Digital River, for example, ( which we use ), will let you choose to be billed in almost every currency. About the supposed "shadiness" of Simmarket, this can't be farther from the truth. In fact, Simmarket is, by far, the best and more reliable retailer out there. Yes, they don't do any quality control. That's not their job, their job is to have the site working, the payments to proceed smoothly, the downloads working and, from a developer perspective, their most important job is to pay our proceedings on time. And from this point of view, Simmarket beats each and every retailer out there, by far. Some retailers are "just" slightly inconsistent with payments, sometimes they delay a week or two, sometimes they are much worse, and sometimes they are so bad you have to send several solicitations before you finally get your payment. None of this happens with Simmarket: you can set your watch on based on the punctuality of their payments, and it has been like this for years, not a single time they ever missed a payment, not a single banking day. We have been scammed at least 4 times by retailers that just disappeared in thin air, and in all cases they owned us THOUSANDS of $ in outstanding payments, one was able to bankrupt and resurrect *twice*, the legal proceedings lasted so much, the only money left in the company was used to pay lawyers and, out of several thousands of $ they owned us after the 2nd bankrupt, all we got was a ridiculous $50 check for the "settlement" which was agreed in court and, to add insult to injury, they mailed a check that couldn't be cashed anywhere other than the country it was issue from, since no bank accepted it. And this retailer, in his 3rd iteration after their 2nd bankrupt, is still operating today, and we are STILL supporting users with emails and help reactivations, even if we never saw a penny of most of these sales. That's why we progressively reduced all retailers, and end up settling on Simmarket, Microsoft and Digital River, and Simmarket is definitely amongst the best, not just for reliability, but it also beats every other retailer for *features*, like unlimited downloads, ease of use to setup products, ease to set-up upgrade prices, ease to create promotions, etc. Yes, of course we must pay for that, since all retailers have fees, but that's to be expected. Welcome to the world where facts do not count anymore, how I am sick of this... but that is OT, sorry. they have an agenda against simmarket; these days after the introduction of the 'onboard marketplace' simmarket offer the opportunity mostly important to young generations of developers to set up a business; contrary to the in game marketplace where the door has been shut to the benefit of the few only.
May 27, 20215 yr I am always speechless when I read unfounded and abrupt allegations and/or condemnation on Internet, and now Simmarket is in the firing line! I have been buying several thousands of Euros of add-ons on Simmarket since 2003 and have yet to experience a nasty attitude on their part. On the contrary, on a couple of occasions, they were more than helpful and cooperative. Finally. look at them as a simulator add-on supermarket, you see the information provided, you then decide if the product is for you or not (read a couple of reviews when available, read users comments on their site). They are resellers, hence make their money on offering as many items as possible to a very wide public, the same way your supermarket sells thousands of items in which you are used to select the few you actually like and need. They are in no way selecting each product based on their - perceived - quality, how would they do that, according to whose standards!? Yours?

That's not their job, That's where we'll have to agree to disagree 😉 As far as i'm concerned it's all retailers job to monitor what they sell. What they charge on top isn't the issue. Anyway..that's clearly not an problem in this case as you sell direct from your site which is the route i will always take if available. Nothing will change my mind about SimMarket so lets steer this back to your product... So, is this mesh like the ORBX NZ... virtual elimination of terrain morphing/pop in and stutter free performance? ( I have no performance issues with the ORBX mesh.. it runs smooth as butter) and will all the freeware airports work ok with it? If so that's a good enough advantage over the freeware mesh for me and i'll make a purchase.. direct from your site of course 😉
