No Contrails

Recommended Posts

I have not noticed any contrails in FSX when flying the King Air or the Mooney at altitudes where one would be. This was the same problem FS2004 had. Anyone else notice this?Terry

Hi Terry,Two things come to mind:1. What is the air temp at the altitude that you are flying?And2. Is the plane configured to emit contrails at that temp?I hope that I didn't just dream up the second point. But I seem to recall that there is a variable in the aircraft.cfg file that sets the temperature at which contrails are displayed. There may be one to turn them on and off also. Open an aircraft.cfg file with notepad and see if I'm right.R-

Thanks R,I will take a look but it seems that someone at MS should have already done this, considering that it was a noted problem in the FS2004 program. Yes both aircraft were flying at cold enough altitudes.Terry
