Help - busted my install of the Aerosoft CRJ

I'm having very similar issues with my ASUpdater too. I submitted a ticket and posted a thread, I've received no response in three days. Atrocious support. I was also railroaded by the Mods when I dared to point out that the CRJ had major performance issues for some users when it first released. I for one am not buying another Aerosoft product via their website. I did find a solution, however.

Download the Contrail client: https://getcontrail.com/

Install the utility and it should recognize that you have Aerosoft products installed (you might need to create a new Contrail library via the settings section). It will allow you to update all your Aerosoft products even if you didn't purchase them through their client. The 1.0.5.0 update for the CRJ just dropped last night!

Screw AS support!

Fantastic tip I do have Contrail installed worked a treat!  This is the kind of Support I should have got instead of some snot faced reply.

Coming back to my question above. If you downloaded the actual latest version from MSFS marketplace before, how did you manage that Contrails updated what is actually up to date already?

I'm not sure if it will work if you purchased the aircraft through the MSFS Marketplace as anything purchased that way is encrypted. I would look at the Manifest.json file and see what version it's saying you have downloaded. There should really be a way to verify the aircraft version via the EFB or FMS but here we are lol.

Glad it worked for you! I was about to rip my hair out trying to get the thing updated. It's just insane to me that AS has that much "trouble" pushing fully updated builds to peoples' instant downloads page. But AS obviously knows better than the rest of us 😒

Yea I would guess thats the case, once I realised everything from Marketplace is encrypted I decided never to purchase anything again for reasons exactly like this.  I bought the CRJ direct from the Aerosoft shop, I launched Contrails > went into CRJ and 1.0.5.0 was there waiting for me.

Alright. Regardless how AS deals with client concerns and issues in their forum I have to say that I got a swift reply from the AS developer Hans that this CRJ causing CTD at MSFS launch is an Asobo/MS issue due to the encryption procedure after SU4 which only Asobo can solve. And I believe him. So what I just try is getting my CRJ purchase refunded by MS for said reasons. Will see and then buy directly from AS, too. MS needs to be faster with its Marketplace, updates take longer and now also installation issues. That’ll push me to buy from developers directly again

Obvious we all bought it through market place that we all have this problem !

One simple method of proving where the issue is would be provide a customer with the full CRJ download from Aerosoft of course with proof of purchase. And then see if it still crashes the Sim, this in itself will prove where the problem lies !

Just seems we are being punished for not buying direct from Aerosoft

That's why I keep pushing for a refund from MS but they keep pushing me back - so far.

For those few with this CRJ marketplace CTD issue, seems like Asobo found the reason, now let's hope they come up with a quick fix:

Could you imagine all the drama if we were to introduce a downvoting option here at Avsim? 😄

I've never gone to a store where you have a bunch of other customers hanging around the counter that you have to persuade that your issue is valid before talking to the actual employees of the shop. They are like a pack of wolves, and they are encouraged by Aerosoft! It is not a considence - you have to work hard to get to those levels of bad customer service..!

Though I am an member of the support staff there (but not a “deputy sheriff”), I am not a fan of having a downvote option on any forum. It gets misused at the MSFS forum too - flagging posts to be hidden is fine if someone is posting obscenities (and there have been a few at Aerosoft that were rightfully removed for that reason), but at the MSFS forum, it usually happens only because one poster disagrees with the opinion of another.
