Windows 11 in October 2025 . Wondering about MSFS perf.

Recommended Posts

MS has announced that Win10 will be shown the door in 2025. A few leaks have emerged already showing the Win11 GUI WIP but if these are real is anyones guess.

This has me wondering how it will affect MSFS. Will Win11 give us better performance? We have a long wait but it will be interesting to see what additional info MS gives us. Will this be a free upgrade like 10, I doubt it somehow.

I am more worried about the current state of MSFS......  Avionics, weather engine, cloud textures, depth of aircraft modeling, flight dynamics, ATC, ATIS/AWOS, restrictions/prohibitions on SDK, clear NIFS....
2025?  How about today?

You will have enough time to adapt to W11 for sure. To me, there are more important things to be concerned about at this time.

Maybe that's a good thing in that it means the steady barrage of bugged updates that break stuff will stop being forced on us.

i have the windows 11 developer version on my pc, it is much better in my opinion, no flat tiles, windows looks like windows 7. p3d 5.2 and x-plane 11 work fine. the servers are overloaded for MSFS because of some update. when it levels off i will give msfs a try.

There is going to be a reveal on June 24 by MS. Could this mean we will see Win 11 earlier?

October 2025 is the end of support (End of Life, EOL) for Windows 10. If Win11 is supposed to come, it will arrive this year (according to the first link provided).

I seem to recall that when Windows 10 was released, it was advertised as the last version of Windows.  Guess not.

Envy 360 5G

hello all,

New member here just joined after a long stint away after msfs 2002 & Fly!II.  The reason why. Became a real life Private Pilot

Just wondering after buying a brand new laptop if Msfs2020 will work on a, HP Envy 360 11th gen Intel I core 7-116G7@ 2.80Ghz

16GBRam 64 bit , Pen & Touch support win11 pro Should I waste over $100.00 For MSFS2020, or stay with flying the real more expense of

Flying actual aircraft.

Really wanted to stay in practice on Instruments

Please let me know your thoughts
