The specific content provider that has been affected by this latest outage is Akamai Technologies, and MSFS makes very heavy use of Akamai. The last time I did a scan of the TCP/IP connections MSFS makes while running, of 8 total connections, 4 were to Akamai servers. Wondering if this might affect the rollout of WU5 later today?

Until the suits that control the corporate IT budgets get a whole lot smarter it's going to get a whole lot worse. I know this to be true because I was once one of the suits and I didn't listen either.

Funny how, the Internet and the TCP/IP protocol was originally designed by the US military as a decentralized network, capable to survive even major outages of the infrastructure, for example in case of a nuclear war. "The packets will always find a way", they used to say...
