Nordics World Update (1.17.3.0) is now live!

Here's a basic question:

If scenery in MSFS is streamed live from Asobo's servers as we fly, why do we need to download scenery updates at all?

Only the satellite imagery and elevation data is streamed, not all the landmarks, airports, landing challenges.

Unfortunately the limitation here is Bing imagery, in many places including the US it is lacking quality, extremely old or with uneven colors and brightness. Others providers suffer from the same issues so really it is just that the technology is not there or too costly to cover the whole world.
Where imagery is good the end result is fantastic.

I know that. My point is, they should avoid saying they will enhance Iceland as a whole if good data isn't available. When is announced an Iceland update most people will expect a lot of things to be updated there (I know I did). I know Jörg is really enthusiastic about World Updates, but my fear is people getting frustated because they aren't delivering what costumers are expecting.

Maybe the way to go is not specifying which countries are being updated, unless you they have the whole package (DEM, Orthos, POIs, Photogrammetry, Blackshark updates etc) for this specific country.

Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz
Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

A good airport to fly from would be BIRK.

Beautiful area in the sim.

I believe the Points of Interest are not streamed.  Those are handcrafted and when you download the scenery, you get the handcrafted sceneries.  If you don't install the update for the Nordic World Update sceneries, you won't get the Nordic handcrafted sceneries.

Alright, yes, the packages should show in the content manager. Here I searched for "Iceland", for example.

I downloaded whatever was selectable in the content manager but I don't have any new bush trip 😞

Make sure you go into the marketplace, look for the Nordics World Update (just select the free products there) and then "buy" this world update. It should then download the additional content.

did you 'buy' on the market place for free? that needs to be done, then you get them.

Microsoft Market update works well, everything seems fine. Flying from Oslo  to ESSD now.

I am disappointed with this update, there is no difference at all in the part of Sweden I live, the Bing maps are as bad as before, and full of weird visual artifacts like waterfalls in the lakes, and the tree drawing distans is still horrible with visual morphing.
