June 17, 20214 yr Just a heads-up - both Zinertek and Rex airport textures now cause CTDs at some airports - the Isafjordur one, for example. That one is used in the Live Event Landing Challenge. This has been verified and tested by several.

Hopefully they're already aware of this and will include the fix in the upcoming package. June 17, 20214 yr Update was glitch free in my MS Install. Total including the optional Nordic stuff was maybe 10GB and only took about 20 minutes (250Mb connection but max download speed seemed to cap at around 135Mb). Interestingly doing the "buy" thing in the marketplace now seems to auto-install the Nordic part of the update whereas in previous World Updates it was a two step process requiring you to also install in content manager.

June 18, 20214 yr One thing I've noticed, the handcrafted airports in the World Updates all use default SimObjects, like no custom jetway models. Which is a shame at Arlanda, because some of the gates have jetways are too high for where they're meant to connect at the terminal.
June 18, 20214 yr Is it just me or do the countries covered by this WU now have autogen churches? Some might be misplaced, but to me it still adds to the immersion, good job. Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

Funny, because that's exactly what I had to do this time: "buy" it in the free section of the market, and then install the subcomponents in the content manager. 😄 Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
June 18, 20214 yr I start to become critiical about the contents of the world updates. Yes, one has to bear in mind that they are free updates, and the POI's the extra Airports and the corrected default ones, plus a better DEM are very welcome additions. And Bush Trips to explore the areas, very fun to fly. But there are some basic things that I wish we had seen included as well: 1) Adding ALL missing airfields in the updated areas. And tyding up ALL of their layouts (like ORBX does in their regional packs) 2) Adding better vector data to have more accurate coastlines and rivers that actually follow the underlying aerial image. There are many places in for example Alaska where you can still see straight lines and hard angles instead of lines that follow the actual coasts. The same goes for smaller rivers that you can spot accurately in the image that have water masks imposed over them that are straight lines. 3) Correcting of the vegetation so that you don't have trees where they don't belong in real life, be it a desert, mountains or like in this case in the polar region. Yes, they already started to add them with the UK update, I think. And it's certainly a move to the better. I was among those demanding it several times at the official forum. June 18, 20214 yr I think that is really what MSFS separates MSFS from its competitors. The massive content updates every 2-3 months scenery wise are an incredible effort. Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved
