Plus the bugs you experienced would have been the developer's fault, not steam's.

I already said that, the files were full of bugs from the start. Many were never fixed. Steam liked the buggy files. 

Hmm... I don't seem to have the optional World Update so far!  It's normally in Content Manager

The real danger with Steam for MSFS is if you hit (intentionally or accidentaly I would say) the "Verify Files" button, you risk of having to install the whole sim again. Apart from this, that happened to me once several months ago, MSFS - Steam is Ok here.

It was just checking if the files matched what the developer provided.

Steam doesn't do that anymore BTW. It will only redownload files now if you tell it to.

Ok I thought my tree line fix was working, but at least after the update it doesnt work anymore. Flying north of Oslo, Norway, I get tree line as far as I can spit, and it looks pretty bad. The terrain when flying over it with trees on it doesnt look bad, but it looks ugly when beyond the tree line.

Was this fix something you put in the community folder, or did you edit base files? Because the update would have overwritten it.

Did you remember to update the base sim in MS Store as well first, after clicking "Get Updates"? I forgot that step (as usual).

Maybe the changed how the base file looks/acts like. Maybe have to update it.
