Thanks.

Can you suggest a checklist?

Use these markers to indicate which crew member is expected to reply

[ ] pitot heat -- ON   //Number

Where Number marker can be any of these

//2 only Copilot replies

//4 Only Flight Engineer replies

//6 Both FO & FE reply

//7 All 3 crew members reply

With no marker, default is Captain only replies

For now, use the "No state check" option so that nobody argues.

Update to latest version  (Ignore version number showing on webpage). New package uploaded today

Changelog

MCE now aware of PMDG DC-6. Should use the refeence file and hopefully Fo handles flaps. Should also make a flight engineer available for this plane so you can assign a voice to FE and get him to read checklist.

Thanks Gerald, see below - I just quickly added responses for the F/E.

This checklist is an adaptation between the PMDG checklist, resources I've found for real world operations, and some simplifications to accommodate for the fact its a simulator.. Hopefully it should be ok..

Excellent.

We'll have it as the default checklist tied to PMDG DC-6. Obviously, anyone else can alter it and have his own.

Assign it as custom checklist for now and hopefully with latest version, FE will be in chgarge of reading it and replies as per markers.

Thanks for the other heads-up regarding available Lvars for flaps.

No worries - it took me forever of trial and error to find it, so hopefully saved some time!

Flaps may not need Lvar manipulation. Therefore, try it without custom Voxkey commands. But it is good to know it can be done one way or the other. Don't have the plane yet.

Confirm plane is now recognized and FE is available.

So looks like things are in the right direction. The aircraft appears to be being recognised - I see that the default speeds in the monitoring section now show more sensible values.

However, flaps still aren't setting at all - F/O still asking me to repeat over and over.

Unfortunately, same story for landing gear - asking for gear up works fine, but asking for gear down results in F/O warning me that we are above gear down speed - even when well under the extension speed.

Just a further note - I've noticed that whenever installing MCE, it seems to overwrite something in FSUIPC7  - as after installing FSUIPC7 loses the ability to access or write to LVARs within the sim. I've had to reinstall FSUIPC7 each time I reinstall MCE - just an FYI...

The patch won't do for this particular update.

Assuming you installed V2.9.2.9

Should see an additional <PMDG DC-6> folder in \Multi Crew Experience\Configs\ folder.

Should also have an updated "DC-6B_v1_ref.txt" file that lists flaps detents.

The monitor tab in MCE user interface should list the known flaps detents for this plane. This will confirm the correct ef file is read.

Yes the ref file is there, but calling 'flaps 10' or such unfortunately doesn't work.

Can't figure what the issue is with 'gear down' - interestingly P3D version had the same issues so it must be something specific to the DC6...

FO arguing about speed tbeing oo high for gear down is just a reminder. He will extend it anyway once you confirm you want it to happen. You always call the shots.

"Affirmative", "affirm", "yes", "yep", "da", "ja", "go ahead", "do it", "execute", "don't argue", etc.... etc...

The response I get on flaps is (paraphrasing) "ok skipper, you want flaps....." - and nomatter the response I give nothing happens.

Will try 'affirm' in regards to gear down.

Go to <Monitor> tab in MCE UI and click the '+' next to "flaps" to see which flaps detents he is expecting (based on ref file).

Just checked - In monitor, the flaps just read "-1" and this value doesn't change when I press the '+' or '-'

Sorry, my mistake. The refeence file was missing a couple of lines. Re-download and replace file in <Refeence> folder. Should list the detents for the aircraft in <Monitor> tab and Fo acknowledge them on request.

So, good and bad news:

F/O now responds when asked for, say, "Flaps 20" - he responds "Flaps 20 selected" - unfortunately, nothing happens.
