June 21, 20214 yr By the way I have noticed interesting thing while glying few cargo flights.Depending on how heavy cargo load is, number of containers vary. Neat! As far as I can tell, the pushback truck is really just a bit of graphics that attaches itself to the nose wheel. It doesn't actually do anything - the default MSFS pushback command is used. The nice thing about it is that this plane has gotten rid of the highly annoying default pushback goober who takes forever to hook up to your plane, and half the time ghosts through your cockpit for awhile before resetting himself and finally starting the push. Occasionally he will just start wandering away from the plane and... Keep going. He eventually disappears into a building or behind trees. I like the non-MSFS pushback tug, myself. 😉 As far as pushing back with the props, I've been investigating that. I think there might be a new MSFS bug, because I tested with another plane that can push itself back with reverse pitch, the GotGrravel Vertigo. Ordinarily a little touch of reverse pitch will push that plane back pretty aggressively. But today I found that sometimes, if you toggle reverse pitch, you can bring the throttle all the way to the rearward stop, and not only will it not push the plane back, but you'll start accelerating forward. This is behavior I've never seen in the Vertigo until now, and that makes me suspect that the sim is messing up reverse pitch somehow. I tried it on the few occasions when my props wouldn't push me back, and it wasn't available in the ground services menu in ATC. But might be related to the airport, have to investigate further... 8 hours ago, eslader said: As far as pushing back with the props, I've been investigating that. PMDG will be selling the DC-6 on the marketplace, thought it likely won't be up there for a few months, but I don't think we have an information yet on whether that means the plane will be available in the console version. My guess is that if PMDG can make it compatible it will be available on the XB but right now that's pure speculation. Edited June 22, 20214 yr by Matchstick

I've been looking at this and if there is a slight uphill gradient, the DC6 will struggle to reverse or won't move at all. However, I've also learned that in its day the DC6 would not use nose-in gates nor jetways, but would be parallel parked with passenger doors closest to the terminal. So that will be how I do it and reversing won't be an issue.
