The only real problem is that morphin feels sooo good when you are badly broken that you may get used to it  😅!

I had to come off the morphine after the first couple of days as it was... let's just say denying me the pleasure of retaining the food I was eating and that is even less pleasurable with broken ribs.🤢

As a fellow cyclist I know how much this aspect will have hurt, too.

Delighted to hear you're recovering.

I said "seeing" but I at least was unconscious so was in no state to waste the medics' time pleading for them to save my kit. The jersey was so new that it was only my second time wearing it but at least it had burned through to the skin so it was a right-off anyway. The shorts are otherwise ok I think, though it's too painful to look at them again! Annoyingly, the skullcap I wear under my helmet went missing and it should have been fine.😶

The irony of being even more housebound with me time and I can't even use the sim right now.🙄

Ouch !  I was heavily sedated and in kind of a daze (and not eating anyway).

I just can't maintain my excitement  for this sim, I have fewer than 20 hours and that is after spending $2k on a new PC just for the sim...$500 on the Honeycomb Alpha and Brave controls....downloading all the updates.

I think it is a combination of factors....no planes I really like to fly....to much EU emphasis ...the group I flew with for years dispersed.... missing options that we had in FSX.... the list goes on.  Hopefully things will 'click' eventually but for now, if I fly an hour every week or two it's a lot.

i wonder, what plane would you really like?

Thanks.👍 Over 20 years playing ice hockey, a couple playing baseball (and despite being knocked out for 5 minutes as a school soccer goalie when I dived for the ball, leaving the forward to run over my neck and back with his studs!) and I've never knowingly broken a bone (though I may have chipped some in my feet without realising, when blocking shots).. But, 5 minutes from home, some word not allowed hits me from behind and fails to stop.🥵 As bad as concussion is, I'm grateful for being unconscious until I was wheeled into the first of my 3 wards for the week as I undoubtedly missed the worst part of the whole experience, and that includes seeing over £450 worth of cycling kit and impacted helmet cut off me.😭

I suppose I can spend the downtime watching my huge backlog of movies.

@109SqnReally glad that you're okay as it sounds like it could have been a lot worse.

All the best.

I lived in a Cannabis legal state and after my back surgery and took that route.  Opioids just scared the heck out of me as far as getting hooked and I could still feel the pain anyway.

Cheers

I've never flight simmed before mfs2020 started as way to expensive in my opinion but am at 440 hours. Probably 250 of them flying from EHAM to Caribbean destinations.

Just brought a Honeycomb throttle quadrant to go with my airbus joystick, but should have the matching Honeycomb yoke by the end of the year.

I appear to be hooked (although just took a month of after the 19 hour Heathrow to Sydney non stop). Now trying to work out the dc6.

Thanks. Yes, certainly could have been Bruised lung as well, so not far from having it punctured. Second time I've been thrown off my bike by a motor vehicle impact. The worst damage was to the bike on the first occasion, when the driver failed to stop at a Give Way junction. The culprit was the local police force's chief surgeon! Needless to say, he paid for the repairs fast! Unfortunately, the motorcyclist hasn't been traced yet, so looks like getting away with it and leaving me £500 out of pocket, on top of the injuries.

Once the healing process starts to make ground, I can at least use my yoke as resistance training to get some strength back, so I guess it will be aerobatic flying for me initially!
