Fokker F28 Fellowship in the works by Just Flight

Featured Replies

Slightly off topic, I know, but one plane I absolutely loved in FSX was Just Flight's Saab Safir.

Have they said anything at all about doing this for MSFS?

I totaly agree! Sibwings made the safir if i am correct... Love to see it in msfs as well!

Best regards

I once sat in a motel bar in NJ and tried to explain that we (in the Netherlands) have an aircraft factory.

What's that called??  he asked.  "Fokker"  I replied. He looked at me, got up and walked away without saying a word.

For years I thought that walking away without saying anything was typical American behaviour.

An Aerospace company I worked for had an association with Fokker.

We were always told to pronounce it Foe-ker.  I don't know if that is right in Dutch?  But it avoided a few problematic situations and continual sniggering in presentations etc!

Anyway, I would like to see this Bird in MSFS.  Some of the old repaints will be great!  I once flew from Birmingham to Amsterdam on one many years ago; it seemed fairly quiet inside as the engines are placed at the rear.  I had only ever flown on aircraft with engines on the wings before that.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Lol. I heard another story about Fokker.

In the 70's Fokker gave tours for interested buyers.
The tour guides however didn't speak English all that well in those days.
An American delegation visited and planned the tour.
So, the tour arrived at the very last plane, the first Fokker ever made, and the tour guide translated the Dutch name for it straight out.: "This is the oldest Fokker we ever made, we call it the Mother Fokker."

For you English types, take the word 'locker', and replace the l with an f and you got the correct pronunciation. Literally the word means "breeder" in English.

There is another anecdote, where a Dutchman , when asked what he did for a living, told someone "I fok horses", while meaning to say he was a horse breeder.

Like to see them bring their F.27 Friendship to MSFS

Not forgetting the good old:

An RAF veteran was giving a talk to a class of school children, and was trying to explain what a typical combat mission would be like.

"So there I was, escorting the bombers to their target, when out of the blue we were attacked by a bunch of Fokkers. There were about twenty of these Fokkers. One shot down a friend who was in formation alongside me, but I managed to shoot that Fokker down. Then another was on my tail and I couldn't shake the Fokker, but my wingman took care of him. Eventually I took out two more of the Fokkers..."

The teacher interrupted: "Children, I should explain, the Fokker was a type of fighter airplane used by the German Air Force to stop the RAF bombers and their escorts."

"Yes, but these Fokkers were Messerschmitts!" added the veteran.

No it's pronounced as orchestra_nl said.  Locker with an F

Have JF done an F28 for any of the other sims or is this entirely brand new for MSFS ?

Or as in "Vernon Focker" , as pronounced by Dustin Hoffman in the "Meet the Fockers" movie series ....

The whole 'problem' arises because (in (American 'slang' ?) the 'u' in the word 'F*ck' often sounds like an 'o' ...
LoL ....

Cheers, Rob

Can't wait to boom around the Northeast in a Empire Airlines livery. Will be a fun engaging jet for short hops, given the older systems.

They did an F-27 - made by Aeroplane Heaven, which is better than getting just any old Fokker to make it for them 🤣 - so they have been involved in the production of a Fokker for P3D and FSX and very good it is too, but this F-28 is a brand new development.
