Orange smoke plumes in Return to Misty Moorings...

Featured Replies

Is there some way to get rid of those obnoxious, ugly orange smoke plumes RTMM has at several airports?

I was just flying to Bella Coola this morning and I have valley I fly down into the Bella Cool valley through and then make my turn down the river and look for the runway.  This morning there is that blazing orange plume of smoke RTMM must think are beautiful.

I could possibly live with them if they were restricted to RTMM airports, but not when they are put into Orbx scenery.

I hate them!  In all my days of flying I have never seen such a thing.  If I can't get rid of them then RTMM will have to go.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Dang, patience padawan. I told you I'm working on it. Read your emails !

Sorry my beloved Guru.  But these might be other gurus out there that also have an answer.

That's OK, we may need them. I'm getting no response over at RTMM.

No matter how long we've been away, that early training still kicks in. I find my right hand making strange movement across my chest once in a while, LOL.

I can stand in front of a mirror and bless myself... 😌

I had so much practice in Catholic schools that I don't need a mirror to get it right.

Perhaps I was unclear. I was referring to how a priest blesses everyone in the congregation... LOL! 🥴

That's funny Fr Bill.  If you meet another priest you can bless each other.

It's funny you should mention that Noel, as that happened several years ago just before Christmas. I met a Greek Orthodox priest in the parking lot of a local grocery store. He asked me for a blessing, which I promptly gave -- in Latin -- and he returned a blessing in Greek.

By the time we had finished, we both had a line of people asking for blessings! 🤓

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.

I did take 2 years of Latin at St Ignatius and in the 8th grade I was an altar boy for a little over a month.  Not that I wanted to be an altar boy so much but I wanted to go on the altar boy picnic.  By the time I got the hang of it and the Latin down we went on the picnic and I quit after that.

Peck's Bad Boy Father Bill?

Had to look that one up. You are occasionally annoying, but you've never managed embarrassment.

"Peck's bad boy" has entered the language to refer to anyone whose mischievous or bad behavior leads to annoyance or embarrassment.[2

I've caused either or both on occasion, Sue, many times unintentionally.

Actually, I've never head that expression, so I had to look it up myself!

Those orange plumes are smoke markers for RTMM's "dispatch" scenarios.

To remove them, in ...\05-RTMM Addon Scenery\RTMM Automated Dispatches\scenery there's a program called RTMM Dispatch Selector.  Run it, go into both BWEP and Medical dispatches, select all of the dispatches in the green "active dispatches" column, and click on the "Inactivate selected dispatches" button--they should then appear in the pink "Inactive Dispatches" column.

Thanks Bob, but I think I got rid of them by uninstalling the RTMM Medical App Library.

Yesterday I learned how to return Bella Coola to normal.  I noticed  Orcas Island was in the same folder.  I went to Orcas Island and there were a bunch of tents in the parking ramp.  I disabled the Orcas Island files and Orcas Island returned to normal.

I have opted to install RTMM sceneries piecemeal so I can see the airport and decide if I want what RTMM has placed there.  I prefer to have the Orbx airports 'clean' from what I call clutter like the tents at Orcas Island and the emergency medical stuff at various airports but retain the things like the CIRP station at Stewart and Ketchikan and the SIRP station at Petersburg.

Your instructions yesterday in the Bella Coola thread were valuable in showing me how to eliminate certain things I find annoying when I got to an airport.  Adding RTMM sceneries piecemeal works best for me.
