NVIDIA drivers 471.11 NVRLA process high CPU load

Recommended Posts

Just a heads up for those experiencing higher CPU loads using the latest NVIDIA drivers. There is an issue with the GeForce Experience game capture process NVRLA.exe constantly using CPU resources - for me it was around 10% - causing higher temps. If you end the task in Task Manager processes tab the temps return to normal. NVIDIA are looking into this issue:

That's interesting. Maybe that's one of the reasons why I didn't observe such a high 'GPU->CPU load transfer' as it has been reported by others. I never install GeForce Experience when I update my drivers.

Interesting. I have this driver installed, but I don't see this process running on Process Lasso.

I do not even have the file nvrla.exe on my system. Could it be, because I always only install the driver and never Nvidia Experience? Is it part of this?

Yes, it's the screen overlay part of Nvidia Experience I think.

NVSlimmer

Easily strip away all that's is not needed in the Nvidia drivers, repackage and then install.  Easy, peasy... and far better than installing all of Nvidia's bloatware/trackingware.

Or untick NVidia Experience when you install the drivers.
