and, of course, also for digging up this post of mine, from 2 years ago ..

Hahaha, when I saw your shots, I thought that you had posted them before (I was not looking at the date of posting them), but then I thought I'm getting old and start to see things. Still great screenies, even for 2023 😀😀

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

I hope it's ok to tag on one of my favourite IL-62 screen shots.

... 🙂 ...that kind of feeling is a bit mutual...bernd...

Just yesterday, here, while viewing pmplayer's post, I thought of having seen the Latécoère 631 in the recent past ...but had to actually look up that "PNG/Latécoère" post of yours to make sure...🙂 ...

True, it can be a challenge...Luke. I recall someone saying that, in the DCS, the (most authentic) renditions of e.g., the MiG cockpits can be (instantly) switched to English ...🙂 ...for someone like me... However, for the Tupolevs and Ilyushins in our SIM, though the manuals are available in English, still one has to get accustomed to the avionics terminology ...

However, as the true enthusiast of such planes...Ed...🙂 ...says above, it's all a "Great" (and actually rather unique) exercise if one's up for it. I recall I'd become quite proficient in flying e.g., the (Project Tupolev) Tu-154B2, Cold and Dark start-up included, once upon a time... (imagine flying the QW 787 and that PT Tu-154 B2B on the same day...for contrast ...Good fun ...)

Cheers...!

It is indeed the Rada Airlines IL-62MGr.

My panel photos are from the real Rada IL-62MGr.

In fact after seeing my Rada videos the First Officer of the Rada IL-62MGr contacted me to see if I needed any help with the systems.

The internet is a game changer!

Nice panel work, Ed.

I'm reading (on-line) now that Rada Airlines may be the last carrier in the world to be operating two examples of these IL-62MGr for Cargo Operations (and yes, to be technically correct the Cargo Version of the a/c you've shown above should be called "-62MGr" ...🙂 ...) ...

BTW, that's quite a coincidence to have the FO of the actual Rada Airlines IL-62MGr to have noticed your video and offering to help...🙂 ...

[Anyway, along with VC 10, 707, L-1011 and DC-10/MD-11 - all gone from commercial operations, this might be the last of the iconic multi-jet (large) a/c, that have always had special appeal to many of us enthusiasts in this hobby...]

You'd be surprised how often it's happened.

It would simply have not been possible to simulate the IL-76TD-90VD, An-124 and An-12 without help from the actual pilots.

To the chap who mentioned language barrier, I do not speak a word of Russian.
